"They worked around my schedule to deliver the product even though it was just a small quantity of sand 4 tons. I will use them for all my future hauling needs."

Customers say: Quick response

"Jack did an awesome job on our basement! We threw him a few curve balls with some complicated features and he delivered just what we imagined. We had an unfinished basement so he put in a family room with a stone fireplace and built a mantle; a bedroom with custom built bookshelves and barn doors; and a bathroom with excellent tile work and heated floor. Jack was reliable and very accommodating. Whatever we asked he was able to figure out a way to make it happen. We are more than happy with the finished product and the value for our money. I would highly recommend his services! We plan to use him in the future."

"The right guy for the job. Calling Denny a handyman is a disservice to the depth of background this man has in residential construction. His knowledge brought the wisdom of experience to our household as new homeowners trying to settle into the property. Completing our list of tasks was easy for him and the advice on how to do them as well as other issues is what makes him worth every penny. A pleaseant gentleman that left me hoping I had met a new friend."

Small jobs welcome

"Crew of 3 arrived early and on time. Knocked out the bathroom demo in 3 hours. No problems and very outgoing and curtious crew. Clean up could have been a bit better and there seemed to be a leak at the toilet shutoff valve after job completion where there was none before. Had to run out for a cap for pipe after discovering the ceiling in kitchen leaking. But may rehire to pull rugs and flooring to prep for new flooring later."

"Very happy with the work. Bob built a smaller deck on the back of the house and a larger one on the front. The front deck includes a ramp as we have a friend who uses a wheelchair. Cannot wait for Judy to come over for a visit! Bob is easy to work with and the cost was just what I had in mind before I even started looking for someone to do it. High quality work and very easy to work with."

Pool Table Assembly questions, answered by experts

After completing pool construction and installation, schedule your final city inspections. You must pass barrier and electrical inspections before filling the pool. Notify your local utility provider about the underground work and close out any excavation tickets. As IA winters bring freezing temperatures, plan your winterization process immediately. Finally, test your water chemistry to balance the specific minerals found in Ankeny water, and check your neighborhood guidelines for landscaping rules.

Helpful?

Signs that previous pool construction and installation needs redoing include visible shell cracking, uneven waterline tiles, and persistent water loss. The deep IA frost line and shifting glacial till soils in Ankeny cause concrete decks to heave if improperly installed. White mineral deposits on the walls indicate water migrating through a compromised shell. You must also replace outdated drain covers and non-compliant fencing to meet current local safety codes.

Helpful?

Address pool construction and installation immediately if you notice structural cracking, failing plumbing, or electrical hazards. For new builds, plan ahead rather than rushing. The optimal construction window in Ankeny is April through September, as concrete requires temperatures above 50 degrees to cure properly. Local professionals book out months in advance, and digging below the deep IA frost line in winter is extremely difficult. Start your planning in the fall.

Helpful?

It is time to schedule pool construction and installation when your household frequently travels to public pools and you want a private option. Begin planning in the fall or winter to secure a local contractor and clear Ankeny permit queues. If you want the pool ready for the IA summer season, file your permits by February. Verify your lot layout first, as local zoning laws require specific property line setbacks.

Helpful?

To ensure safety after pool construction and installation, install a barrier at least 48 inches high with self-closing, self-latching gates that open outward. Place latches out of reach of children and add alarms to any house doors leading to the pool. Inspect your fence every spring, as Ankeny freeze-thaw cycles shift posts. You must also install anti-entrapment drain covers and create a severe weather plan for IA spring storms.
