We have installed tornado shelters in the following states: Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas, Mississippi, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Iowa, Illinois, North Carolina, Kentucky, Indiana, South Carolina and Virginia. Additional phones numbers - (405) 880-1351, (580) 336-1351. Additional DBA - Ground Zero Shelters, Co. Additional fax - (580) 336-1356.

"Perfect. I enjoyed getting to sit in the storm shelters at their showroom to help with size selection. After signing up for the install, they connect you to an online portal to manage the contract and to update building permit number, etc. Installation was prompt and clean."

"It did not - paid $679 for materials on August 7,2020. Work to be done Saturday August 15th at 8 AM. Jonathan Hines did not show up or call me. I called Jonathan Hines & he said he had a truck accident - he said he would come later. He did not I called again, said he would come Sunday- did not hear from him. I called him & he said he was driving to Osceola,Iowa for materials. He said he could come later , unless something came up. I insisted he come or come Monday. He said he would have to have someone else come Monday as he had a job in Georgia. I became VERY suspicious of a scam. He talked over me & said I was being aggressive with him. He talked over me trying to wear me down-he said he would drop off materials, but do not believe that. He just kept talking over me , as a scammer would do. signed Carol A. Bright"

Hurricane Shutters questions, answered by experts

Hurricane shutters can add value to your home by protecting windows from flying debris during a storm and possibly reducing your home insurance premiums, likely appealing to potential home buyers. The material also plays a role in the value of the hurricane shutters. For example, plywood hurricane shutters are a more temporary solution that likely will not impact home insurance costs even if it can save your windows and doors from damage.

Considering the advantages and disadvantages of hurricane shutters can help you decide if they’re the right choice for your home. Some pros and cons include:

Pros

  • Protection against flying debris during hurricanes and other strong storms

  • Many available styles

  • Relatively easy to remove compared to impact windows

  • Customizable to fit your home

Cons

  • Expensive cost

  • Require maintenance

  • Take up significant space

  • Many require you to go outside to operate

There are many ways to mitigate wind damage. Some of the most common methods include installing storm windows and doors and wind-rated garage doors. When you get a wind mitigation inspection, the inspector will also assess the condition and shape of your roof to see how well it will withstand strong winds.

If a window breaks during a hurricane, the first thing to do is get away from it, shut the door to the room, and move to a different part of your home. Ideally, you should wait out the storm in a room that doesn’t have any windows. Afterward, safely throw out the broken glass while wearing gloves and call a window replacement professional to discuss your options.
