Dellusso Cabinet Company designs and manufactures high-end custom cabinetry for the kitchen, bath, laundry, closet and garage storage.

"I had a challenge assembling a large piece of Martha Stewart Craft Furniture. William was helpful on the phone and then agreed to meet with me to assist (a lengthy drive for him from Auburn to Seattle). He thoughtfully reconfirmed our afternoon appointment the same morning and texted me when on his way – which is a rare courtesy and very much appreciated. Very professional when he arrived with necessary tools for the job, assessed the situation, trimmed some divider pieces on the spot so they would fit, then got all 8 drawers on full extension glides installed and working. Because he was so careful and thorough on this small project, I’m having him estimate some custom cabinetry for a bathroom remodel and built-ins for a basement den."

Cabinets come in diverse styles, including the simple, clean-lined shaker, flat or raised panel, and inset cabinets which sit flush with the cabinet frame. Additionally, cabinets can be framed or frameless.

So, what is a frameless cabinet versus a framed cabinet? The key difference is that framed cabinets have a 1½-inch face frame affixed to the cabinet box front, with doors installed onto this frame. And, if you have ceilings higher than nine feet, it’s a good idea to have custom stacked cabinets made to fill your space.

With the proper maintenance and care, stained cabinets can last for 30 years. You’ll need to properly clean your stained cabinets with a gentle mixture of vinegar and warm water and repair minor cracks and scratches when required. As long as you commit to maintaining stained wood cabinets, you can enjoy their beauty for many years to come. 

To lubricate cabinet hinges, you can use a metal or plastic lubricant from the hardware store or items you may have around the house, like olive oil, butter, petroleum jelly, a bar of soap, or paraffin wax. Apply one of these products across the hinge and into any cracks or divots that could be causing the squeaks.

There are three primary ways to attach upper kitchen cabinets to a wall, and installers may use more than one method at a time. The most common method is to drive screws through the back of the cabinets and into studs in the wall behind. Sometimes cabinets are glued to the wall with strong adhesive. Often a combination of screws and adhesive is desirable. The last way is by hanging the cabinets on hardware brackets that attach to the wall before cabinet installation.
