"Georgis Best Concrete, LLC completely replaced my driveway, sidewalk and front steps yesterday. Their work is absolute perfection! Chris Tamayo (owner) explained clearly what would be done and quoted a great price for complete removal and replacement of an old driveway, sidewalk and front steps. The team he sent was amazing - they are professional and definitely expert at concrete installation. Every team member worked carefully and diligently to compete the job. Chris was here working with them to inspect and approve the installation. I could not be happier with my new driveway, sidewalk and steps!! If you need any concrete work done I highly recommend Georgia Best Concrete, LLC!!"

"I was introduced to this Company by my neighbor who had a his driveways and walkways redone by Classic Concrete. We all live on more than one acre and are not in a subdivision so our drives are very long and winding. When I contacted them for an estimate, Greg Meyers responded quickly and gave me a written estimate within a few days. I have had very bad experiences lately with some contractors so I did everything I could to ensure I made the correct choice for my work. I have no background in this type of project so I was very reluctant to move forward without all the information I could find. I checked the references he provided to me and they gave him outstanding ratings. I obtained another quote and this company was significantly lower priced.
I obtained the quote several months ahead of time with a plan to complete the work in January. In December, I contacted Greg and modified my request sightly and he immediately responded with a new written quote. In mid January, Greg made a follow up call to see if I was ready to start and we moved forward.
The entire project could not have gone smoother. They started on time, kept in touch with me all during the process, and finished on time. The cleanup and finishing touches were perfect. I cannot say enough about how great this job was handled.

Asphalt Driveways questions, answered by experts

The material that’s best for your private road depends on your property, the climate in your area, and your personal preferences. Gravel is an affordable option, but some homeowners don’t like how it looks. It can be a pain to remove snow from, and it requires more ongoing maintenance than asphalt or concrete. However, while these other options require less maintenance and make snow removal a breeze, they’re more expensive and will need repairs from time to time. Ultimately, you’ll have to choose the road material that suits you and your property best.

At a depth of two inches, a ton of asphalt covers around 80 to 100 square feet. However, the thicker the asphalt, the less surface area it will cover. That’s why measuring correctly is essential when estimating asphalt needs and costs to ensure you get enough material to cover your entire driveway, patio, or other asphalt surface.

There’s no single best asphalt grade—it all comes down to where and how it’s used. Highways and heavy-traffic roads need something tough, like polymer-modified asphalt (PMA) or Stone Matrix Asphalt (SMA). Local roads and parking lots rely on the Performance Graded (PG) system, chosen based on climate. A PG 64-28 mix, for example, handles a broad temperature range while simpler, more cost-effective mixes are typically enough for residential driveways. The best grade of asphalt depends on traffic, weather, and your budget, which is why a professional’s input is always a smart move before making a decision.

In the United States, roads are usually categorized as one of three types: public roads, other drivable roads, and non-drivable roads. These categories dictate how a road can be used; a non-drivable road might be classified that way because it is heavily damaged and unsafe for cars.

In most cases, you don’t need a permit to repave your driveway, although some exceptions exist. If you’re widening your driveway and plan on widening the apron as well, you’ll usually need a permit from the Department of Transportation in your area. This permit costs between $50 and $300 in most cases. Most municipalities will also require a certified and insured contractor do the work relating to the apron and curb cut. You can contact your building department or ask your paving company if you need a permit. Your driveway professional will usually pull the permit for you.
