Called him immediately and he said he was too far to come back till the next Wednesday. This man only comes when he will be in area, NOT when you have a leak!
While here, he told me it would be $450 parts, labor to fix the dishwasher. He had to get parts and come back the NEXT Wednesday! he told me on phone I had a bad attitude and he would send my check back. I said fine, he cashed it the very next day.
The next AM Chattanooga Appliance came right out, inspected and said nothing wrong with machine, not leaking and likely a utensil had blocked the washer arm(s) since it was a small, leak. TOTAL charge : under $80 .
Volunteer is owned by Carl Jerry McKaig, Jr. He would not allow me to write a check to his company, only to him personally. He inflated repairs, wasted my time and money. His son Jeremy works with him. Jerry just seemed to supervise, but both agreed a new heater and a new set of connectors were needed! Even called Electrolux in my presence to order parts, later found out no record of the order from distributor or the Electrolux Co.

Erby Scoggins did a terrible job on my house. I was given his name and number by the sales representative at Key James Brick Company and trusted the referral. Erby quoted me $5500 to remove all vinyl siding and replace with beautiful Horizon stone with a completion date of 10/31/13. Erby came to my house on 10/25/13 and removed all vinyl siding from around my front door and 2 side walls that make up the entrance way into my house. He collected $2800 from me for supplies and left after telling me he would return on Monday, 10/28/13. Scaffolding was left on the front of the house which blocked the front door and created a safety concern for anyone trying to enter and leave my home. Erby did not return to my house on Monday 10/28/13. I waited several hours and called him to find out where he was. He gave me the excuse that his truck was broke down. All materials and tools existed at my house so there was no need for a truck other than general transportation to the jobsite. Throughout the entire job, Erby kept asking me for more money. I told him that I wasn't going to pay until the job was completed and his response was that he couldn't make payroll that way. He was very unprofessional, rude and sarcastic when speaking with me. Erby showed up between 9 and 9:30am and left between 4pm and 5pm most days with a 1 hour lunch break. He and his crew stepped on all of my landscaping lights and crushed them. His broken down truck left grease spots all over my driveway. Mortar and chalky residue has covered my brick steps and will have to be cleaned. The craftsmanship, selection and placement of the stone work is terrible. There are broken edges that resemble a wasp nest and are concrete gray that are exposed and ugly. Mortar work is sloppy and exists on a lot of the stone. I questioned Erby about some of the craftsmanship and he was argumentative and sarcastic. Erby finished the job on Thursday evening, 11/07/13 and called me asking for the balance of the money that I owed him. I told him that I could not pay him yet because I needed time to review the job (in daylight) to determine if it was completed and fine tune an areas that needed attention. There were areas on the walls that were missing stones, stones that had fallen from the walls, mortar that was applied in a sloppy way and general bad craftsmanship that needed to be addressed. Erby became angry and told me that he was coming to my house to get his money that night. I asked him to meet me the next morning, Friday 11/08/13 so that we could review the job in the daylight and he agreed then hung up the phone after saying that he would only spend 20 minutes or so tweaking any inperfections that I found. He said there was nothing wrong with the job and that he wanted his money. I felt very uncomfortable around this man and no longer wanted him around me or on my property. I put blue painters tape on areas that needed rock or mortar to make it easier for Erby to make corrections. He showed up Friday morning and in a big hurry put sloppy mortar in the areas that I had taped, without removing the tape. I now have blue tape hanging out of some of my mortar. He also stuck ugly rock chips in areas that I had taped. The job is an aesthetic nightmare. I have had many friends and neighbors say "it looks good from the street". They are right. It does. However, as you come closer to my home, the errors in judgement and poor craftsmanship become more and more visable. If I could do anything different, I would have done more research on Erby Scoggins and gotten more options for the application of the stone. Now that I have had numerous contractors come to my home to give me opinions, I have learned that Erby Scoggins has a terrible reputation in the stone and brick industry. Unfortunately, I am finding this out after the fact. I am here today to submit my review in hopes of helping someone else avoid the hurt feelings and frustration that I have experienced at the hand of Erby Scoggins.

The owner/installer installed a waterfall for my pond. The base material was TN Natural Stone but he only purchased about half of what he needed. He finished the job with stones I already had in the previous water runoff ditch. He installed lights for accent but damaged my existing landscape...
The positive: AV Tile and Stone, or specifically work performed by Anthony Valencia, is well done. The craftsmanship is of a high quality. The negative: Almost everything else. A project estimated at 2-3 weeks, took over 6 months. Lack of communication and sometimes a failure to communicate...

We recently had repair work done to some stacked stones that had fallen off our house. The workmanship was superb, and we can not see a trace of the previous problem. The stones had to be ordered, but RTM kept in contact with us and did not leave us wondering what was going on. The cost...

"We’re do I start. This project, our retaining wall, was an epic journey. To say that The American Dream Team are a dream team won’t do them credit. With sheer will the team of Nick, Elizabeth, and Isaiah faced a number of of life’s challenges from flat tires, trucks that had maintenance issues, a car fire, and more. Yet never did they waver, give up or change what was agreed to. My wife said “this company is so honest, trustworthy, and just real people trying to make a honest living.” We were lucky to get to know them. A great company. Give them a try you won’t be disappointed."

"(TL/DR: We are happy with the work Cory did, and I would recommend him for your landscaping needs.) The theme here is "all's well that ends well." Cory is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet, and he's very agreeable to work with. He and his crew work remarkably quickly, too, and the quality of work is very good. The job was not without its hiccups, though. Cory is not a proactive communicator, and that caused us some grief along the way. Without boring you with every detail, Cory and his crew got to work on Day 1, and by the end of Day 2, they had built an entire retaining wall on a line different from the one we'd talked about. He told me he had lain the foundation on Day 1 and, when he didn't hear from me, assumed it was correct and moved on to building the wall on Day 2. Problem is, he didn't inform me that I needed to review his Day 1 work (I never imagined that he would do the work differently than what we talked about when he met me for the initial estimate), or that he would interpret no word from me as acceptance of his work. The result was that he had to deconstruct the wall and then rebuild it along the correct line, which I'm sure was a lot of work, but he did it and did so cheerfully. This kerfuffle was unfortunately repeated, in essence, with the landscape stairs--building, followed by no word from him, followed by silence from me, followed by a discrepancy between what he built and what I wanted. This was especially frustrating, because, after the wall incident, he said he would take photos of the unfinished stairs and send them to me for approval before completing them. But, all's well that ends well: he and I met to discuss the issue, and then he and his crew redid the stairs to my satisfaction. To sum up, my experience with Cory is that he will make judgment calls, build, and hope it works out right rather than consulting you to see what you want and doing it that way (or telling you it can't be done that way for a particular reason). If you have a drawn plan that Cory can refer to, you may not have these issues, and perhaps I should have insisted on drawing him a plan when he didn't insist on having one before beginning work. Or, if you don't work during the day, you could oversee the work and give feedback as it's happening to prevent any issues from arising. But don't expect Cory to be proactive about communication. So, after all that, do I regret getting Cory to do the work? Absolutely not. He got it done quickly, did it well, did it for an excellent price, and went the extra mile to make sure we were happy. And we are. We are very excited about the way things turned out, and we can't wait to use the back yard space that Cory helped us create. I would absolutely recommend him."

He worked closely with us - willing to pivot if necessary and always nearby to answer questions and recommend creative solutions. Attention to detail? Check! And their daily clean-up regimen and final detailing was impressive. It was like we suddenly had a new kitchen and any/all signs of the renovation were gone. "Great! I purchased this home in June of 2018, from MN, and had a different contractor hired to do all of the above, as of the day I closed, July 9. I was planning on moving in mid August. July 3 I found out the contractor I thought I had hired would not be able to do the job. I called Chris the morning of July 4. He met with my realtor at the house and took the job. Of course he was not able to start right away, but he had all the work completed by and I was able to move by mid September. I literally do not know what I would have done without him - I had called three other local contractors, and even tried Buildzoom and no one returned my calls. He was professional, communicative and the work that he did on my home is beautiful. I only made two trips down to the house while the work was being done and we managed to coordinate the rest via phone, efficiently. What a godsend. I am hiring Chris again in January to do a few more things I have noticed since moving in, and will continue to use him in the future. I cannot recommend him highly enough."
