Small jobs welcome

Devin is committed to excellence in every aspect of our business. \n\nMy family and I recently relocated from the Chicagoland area to Northwest Georgia; with over a decade of carpentry, light plumbing and light electrical experience.\n\nThe majority of my work is helping homeowners complete small projects and tasks inside the home. I find the most satisfaction helping busy families, those wishing to improve their homes but lacking the skillset to do most tasks, and those with physical challenges that just need a hand getting things done. \n\nWe uphold a standard of integrity bound by fairness, honesty, and personal responsibility. Our distinction is the quality of service we bring to our customers. Accurate knowledge of our trade combined with ability is what makes us true professionals. Above all, we are watchful of our customers' interests and make their concerns the basis of our business.

I have been a locally licensed residential contractor for nearly 10 years and have recently also acquired my General Contractor license, allowing me to do any work requiring a permit. I have built multiple homes, converted porches to screened porches, finished basements, completed pre-closing punch list, including minor electrical, siding repairs or replacement, code required repairs and more. If I cannot do it, one of my crew can!

"needed help with network security cameras in my home.  Mr. Jim did not have experience with them but he was more than willing to try.  He was very responsive and determined to fix the problem.  He was not going to charge me if he couldn't help me.  He did exactly what he promised and completed this project with a great attitude!  I highly recommend him and will definitely utilize his help in the future."

"It went very well. They set up an appointment came out, provided an inspection and estimate. I had the work done to remove the rotted wood around my window this fixed one of the leaks but noticed that the leaks was in a different place afterwards. Called them back they can right back out reviewed the work that was done and found cracks in the siding that caused more leaking, which they caulked while up there the person noticed that my gutter was falling off part of the house he nailed it back in place for us. This is the kind of service you want from a handy man! They are now on my first call list!! Excellent work and quality customer service!!!"

Window Screen Repair questions, answered by experts

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.

Window screens are available in several standard sizes. Common dimensions include 24 to 36 inches wide by 36 to 48 inches tall, as well as sizes like 18 by 14 inches and 20 by 20 inches. These often correspond to standard window sizes, such as 2 feet wide by 3 feet tall or 4 feet wide by 6 feet tall. Screens are also sold in replacement rolls to accommodate various dimensions. It is always best to measure your windows for accuracy before a repair or replacement. If your windows are a non-standard size, you will likely need to order custom screens, which can increase the cost. However, a screen does not necessarily have to fit the entire window, so you may be able to use a standard-size screen even if your window is slightly larger.

Solar screens use a thick mesh of polyester to block out the UV waves and solar heat. While they are more expensive at about $7.50 per square foot, they can protect your porch or hardwood floors from sun damage and keep the room or porch on the other side of the patio cool.

The average cost to repair a window is about $400, with prices typically ranging from $175 to $1,500. The final cost is influenced by several factors, including:

  • Number of Panes: Single-pane repairs average around $200, double-pane repairs range from $200 to $400, and triple-pane repairs can cost $600 to $1,100.

  • Type of Repair: Minor fixes for a track, seal, or sash are more affordable than repairs for broken glass or window frames, which are typically the most expensive.

  • Window Details: The size, type, and material of the window affect the price.

  • Accessibility: Windows on upper floors or in hard-to-reach locations may increase labor costs.

  • Other Factors: The extent of the damage, local labor rates, and the need for emergency service will also impact the total cost.

For comparison, a full window replacement can range from $175 to $1,800 or more for high-end materials or large windows like bay or bow windows.

Among the various entry points into your residence, it's crucial to recognize that your basement windows are arguably the most susceptible. Basements usually have windows facing the side and back yards, often concealed from driveway floodlights, porch lighting, and doorbell cameras. Their vulnerability underscores the importance of reinforcing basement window security to safeguard your home from break-ins.
