Customers say: Quick response

"We were finding ourselves having to power wash our stucco house twice a year to remove mold and there were several areas on the walls where the stucco had pulled away. A friend recommended Plaster Master to me. Not only did Mike make the repairs; he resurfaced the entire house with a material that protects the stucco surface and freshened the color. He took extra time with the trim and kept me informed at every step. Totally professional, skilled, congenial and reasonably priced for the quality."

"James and his crew did a great job painting our newly purchased condo. They were careful with all of our furniture and floors, and we are very happy with the results. We did have some sticker shock about the price, but we hadn’t had painting done in this area, and we can see that it is competitive. We wanted a professional job and they delivered. The only issue we had was with record keeping; we had the job done in two phases several months apart, and we had to find our own records of what payments had been made to ensure we paid the correct amount. However once we had done that, James concurred with our paper trail and everything was settled appropriately. Our one suggestion would be for James to hire a part time office manager to help with the orders. Otherwise everything was perfect!"

Stucco questions, answered by experts

Repaired stucco requires regular inspections, cleaning to prevent mold or mildew build-up, and timely minor repairs to address hairline cracks. Applying protective sealants can also enhance longevity and maintain its appearance.

When cleaning stucco siding, it is recommended to use a pressure washer with a psi (pounds per square inch) between 1,500 and 2,000. This range provides sufficient power to remove dirt and grime without causing damage to the stucco surface. It's important to avoid using excessive psi as it can chip or crack the stucco.

Using a wider spray nozzle and keeping a safe distance of about seven to 10 feet from the siding helps ensure a gentle and effective cleaning process. Always follow the manufacturer's guidelines and adjust the psi accordingly based on the condition of your stucco and the specific requirements of your pressure washer.

Properly installed and maintained stucco can last 50 to 100 years, making it one of the longest-lasting siding materials available. This durable material is known for its durability, and as long as you clean and waterproof it regularly and promptly repair any damage, it’ll protect your home for decades to come.

The curing time for stucco typically takes several weeks to fully complete. During the curing process, the stucco undergoes a chemical reaction and gradually hardens. It's important to note that curing is different from drying. While the surface of the stucco may dry relatively quickly within a few hours or days, the curing process continues beneath the surface, strengthening and solidifying the stucco.

It's best to avoid excessive moisture exposure during the curing period, as it can impede the curing process. The exact curing time can vary based on factors such as temperature, humidity, and the specific stucco mixture used.

Solid, unpainted stucco shouldn’t suffer damage from dots of glue used for this task. If the stucco is dirty, you may notice slight marks when you heat and peel the glue away, but these aren’t permanent.

However, not all stucco walls are solid stucco. Some are “faux” stucco with a foam backing. This kind of stucco veneer is more susceptible to damage, including damage from hot glue. We don’t suggest attaching anything to these kinds of stucco walls, so make sure you check the stucco type before starting this project.
