"I went in on a Saturday for new tires and an oil change. They advised that they needed to order tires for my car because they didn’t have any in stock and to come back first thing Tuesday morning (which was fine). I show up Tuesday morning when they opened at 8am and dropped off my car. They said they should be calling me around lunch to come pick it up which I say is fine. I get a call at 12:30 saying that they gave my tires to someone else and that they needed to order more tires for the next day and that I needed to come get my car. Naturally, I was livid because it took them nearly 5 hours to figure out that they didn’t have tires for the car I dropped off at opening. When I arrived Alan told me he’d take care of me/make it up to me and that they were just finishing up my oil change and then my car would be out. I waited until 1 for them to finish up and give me my keys back. While I was waiting I asked Alan why it took them almost 5 hours to figure out they didn’t have the tires they ordered for me and he said he had to figure out what happened once they determined they were gone. I also confirmed with him that the next day I would bring in my car at 9 and it would be done by 10:30 at the latest and that he’d make it up to me. I leave and come back the next day at 9 like they told me and they assured me it’d be done by 10:30. 10:30 comes and goes so at 10:41 I call and speak to someone else who says that they’re just finishing up my oil change (which they supposedly already did yesterday) but my car should be done within 30-45 minutes. So either they gave me two oil changes or Alan lied about them doing my oil change in order to save face. I did notice on the first day I did not have an oil change sticker but I did have one after the second oil change. If he lied about this oil change that could have caused further issues down the line with me thinking I had fresh oil. So it finally came time to pay and to “make it up to me” he gave me $20s off and a smile. I just don’t feel $20 was enough to justify wasting 5 hours of my time. Furthermore they kept referring to me as “Mariia” through their system despite me correcting them twice about my name. TLDR; I would not recommend tires first because they are more focused on cramming in as many people as possible into their work shift instead of respecting their customers’ time and doing a good job."

Gas Leak Repair questions, answered by experts

Yes, it’s possible to convert an oil furnace to gas. However, you may have to replace the furnace completely instead of simply converting it. If the original oil furnace has had any type of damage or is older (typically considered over 15 years old), then you will likely need a full replacement versus a conversion.

To ensure a steady propane supply, schedule regular deliveries with your provider, monitor usage, and consider keeping a backup supply for emergencies.

This is a matter of personal preference, as each method has its own pros and cons. Oil furnaces are safer, but the smell can be off-putting to some consumers. Oil is also more expensive than gas. However, oil furnaces boast a higher BTU rate per hour, so a smaller amount of oil can heat a larger space when compared to a gas furnace.

Consider an annual inspection conducted by a local plumber to prevent dangerous and destructive leaks. If you recently moved into an older home or are concerned about the age of your gas lines, call an inspector for a closer look. You may also be required to call an inspector after your contractor installs a new line for an appliance.

Venting a gas water heater out of the roof is preferable in most cases. Heated exhaust gases naturally rise, so a vertical vent pipe is efficient. If you’re trying to vent through a pipe exiting a wall, the angle of the pipe may be more horizontal than vertical, making the venting system less effective. If you go through a wall, you may need to add a fan to ensure a successful expulsion of the gases outdoors.
