"Chris did an outstanding job installing the large flat backsplash tiles in our kitchen. He and his team took the time to study the tile patterns and aligned them so they flow together seamlessly, almost like a piece of wall art. The project went smoothly and was finished on time and within budget. I couldn’t be happier and highly recommend VersaTile for any tile work"

"Brian is not just a tile contractor; he's a tile magician! When he worked on tiling my bathroom, I felt like I was witnessing a transformation right before my eyes. His attention to detail is not just meticulous; it's downright magical. Each tile he laid seemed to align perfectly as if guided by some unseen force of precision."

"We were delighted with Matt and his quality of work on our bathroom remodel. We hired Legacy to take over an ongoing project when our prior (non Angi) contractor left us mid-project. Matt was able to salvage a poor start from previous guy and achieve our vision. He was patient, detailed and worked hard every day. He laid tile for our floor, shower, and half wall while also installing a free standing tub and repainting our vanity. I would definitely recommend Legacy Refinishing and Tile to anyone. We were very demanding and Matt delivered. Before and after photos show going from dull contractor brown to updated modern bathroom."

"Enver is one of those rare contractors you hope to find when you're having work done on your home. In too many cases, people out there sub to lower quality workers or they themselves just don't have high quality standards. Not the case with J&B. Enver does the sales visit, customer service, and all of the work. He is a true craftsman in every sense of the word and ensures that the work is done as if he's doing it in his own home. He had excellent communication, respect for my home, and put in the time to ensure everything was perfect. He was on time every day and worked long days to ensure he finished ahead of schedule. Enver has done quite a bit of work for us. He rebuilt our entire master bathroom shower for us. We selected the tile and fittings; He did everything else including the demo, waterproofing, drainage, tile, grout, and (through a plumber he knows) the plumbing. He also removed the carpet from our master bath (gross) and laid tile. Within the same job he removed the wall to wall carpet from our master bedroom and laid stranded-bamboo flooring. Every step of the way he checked in the ensure what he was doing met our expectations. The results are nothing short of stunning. To top it all off, his pricing is very reasonable. I have no hesitation recommending J&B / Enver to anyone and everyone. We'll be asking him back to do more work in the near future as well."

Ceramic Tile questions, answered by experts

Whether you want to match your tile trim with grout comes down to your personal preferences. If you match the two, it can help your tiles to stand out while providing a clean, cohesive look. On the other hand, you might opt to match your tile trim with your tiles. The best option will depend largely on your tile design, as well as how it fits overall with the rest of your room.

Glass tiles are among the most difficult to install. This is because their transparency makes the adhesive visible, and any imperfections on the opposite side are also likely to be visible. Glass tiles also must be handled carefully during installation, as they are prone to scratching. For these reasons, glass tiles often require professional installation to get the most out of their beauty and unique look.

Yes, it’s possible to cut tile without a wet saw; instead, you can use an angle grinder, a glass cutter, a snap cutter, tile nippers, or a rotary tool with a tile-cutting blade. A manual tile cutter or snap cutter works well for the larger tiles that wet saws are typically used for, while smaller projects might just require nippers or a glass cutting wheel. If you’re working with large quantities of tile, however, power tools are best.

The number of boxes of tile you need depends entirely on the amount of tile in each box or case. Different manufacturers package their tiles differently, and boxes contain different amounts of tile depending on the size, shape, and material. Often, the amount of area that a case will cover is listed in the product description. To calculate the number of boxes you need, take the total square feet of the space and divide it by the number of square feet the box will cover.

Grout and caulk are commonly used together, especially in bathrooms. Grout goes between the tiles and keeps them sturdy and in place on the walls or floor. Caulk goes in corners or where two different materials meet (like where the bathtub meets the tile) to create a waterproof seal. However, they are not interchangeable—you shouldn't use caulk to adhere tile and shouldn’t use mortar if you need a waterproof seal.
