"We called a few places to get estimates and Chris B. from Ragsdale Heating and Air was great, he did not push more than what we needed and understood our situation. He was frank about the condition of the existing unit and was able to answer all of our questions. Once we made the decision to go with them, we were put on the schedule right away and this was prime time busy July! The guys (Eddie and Bryant) came to install and were prompt and knew what they were doing - they made quick work of the installation and when they hit a snag, they informed us of the problem and were able to fix that at the same time as the install. When it was all done, they ran the vacuum cleaner!! and cleaned up any mess they made, the house was left exactly as it was when they arrived. Eddie explained how the new thermostat worked since it was digital and it replaced the old fashioned kind, one with the slider. The unit has been working great since the install and we have no complaints - if we need any service when winter comes for our heating unit/furnace, we will definitely be calling them. From start to finish, they were all very professional!

Truly like a trusted family member!! From removing cast iron pipes, to repairing the jets for a tub, to clearing blocked drains, installing Jew toilets, replacing a water heater in an attic and even resurfacing a tub & shower! Drain Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.

Clean regularly with non-abrasive cleaners, avoid pouring grease down the drain, and check for leaks under the sink.

If you try a drain snake and various DIY methods for unclogging drains to no avail, bring in a professional plumber to assess the situation. Also, if multiple drains in your home are backing up or you smell sewage, a visit from a plumber is best. You can expect your drain cleaning costs to fall around $250, and this can include an assessment of what’s caught in your plumbing and if there’s a larger, underlying problem. You should also consider calling a pro if you need to snake a toilet, as DIYing this could lead to a cracked fixture.

DIY is not recommended due to safety risks and specialized equipment requirements. Hire professionals for effective clearing.

You should inspect and clean your French drain at least once per year to keep it in good working order. Regular maintenance can help identify clogs, buildup, and damage before they become bigger problems, which increases the lifespan of your drain. The frequency with which a drain clogs can depend on factors like the amount of debris, the quality of the installation, and the type of filter used. If your drain accumulates a lot of sediment, it may require more frequent cleaning. It's also a good practice to check the access and exit points after heavy storms. If you notice reduced drainage or any signs of a clog, clean the drain as soon as possible.
