"I cannot say enough good things about Southern Acres! I wish I could share before/after pictures of the excellent work they did at my house. Like many others after the devastation Helene inflicted, my yard was damaged beyond recognition....Five 40' trees down, limbs, bushes uprooted, etc. Travis, Jake and a small crew worked from early morning to late afternoon (non-stop except for a brief lunch break) to scrape out the debris. They cut back, trimmed, edged, and removed a huge trailer full of yard waste. They then put out new pine straw (rolled, the way I like it) and blew porch, walk and driveway. The transformation was nothing short of incredible. All the while, they were pleasant and professional. The price they quoted was fair, and they more than met my expectations. Unclogging a drain costs between $150 and $350 if you have a plumber come to your home. But that just covers the drains in your home. It can cost over $1,600 if there’s a main sewer line clog. If you’re able to use a snake or drain bladder on clogged drains, you can save money and leave the bigger jobs to the pros.

You can try several easy methods to unclog a drain, one of the easiest and most effective of which is to use a mixture of baking soda and vinegar. This will help dislodge and dissolve the clog to move it down the drain pipes. Pour 1/2 cup baking soda into the drain, followed by 1/2 cup of white vinegar. Dump several cups of boiling water (or hot water if you have PVC pipes) into the drain and let sit for up to one hour. Run hot water to clear the drain.

There are several steps you can take to prevent your AC drain from clogging. This includes cleaning the drain line at least every three months, changing the filter every one to three months, and getting your AC serviced annually. Also, if any problems arise with your AC, hire an HVAC technician to deal with them ASAP.

Just as frozen pipes can cause a blocked sink that won’t drain, frozen toilet pipes can block water from flushing down the drain pipe and prevent the tank from refilling, depending on which lines are frozen. To clear a frozen drain pipe, you can fill the toilet tank or bowl with warm water and flush, allowing the water to thaw the pipe as it rushes through.

Pouring drain cleaner down a vent pipe isn’t recommended. First of all, unlike a clog in a sink or bath caused by such material as soap scum build-up, toothpaste, and hair, clogs in a vent pipe are likely the result of debris from trees or even an animal stuck in the pipe. Drain cleaners won’t be able to eat through this kind of material. The cleaner will only become clogged in the vent with the debris, causing even more problems.
