For over 30 years the Amos family has owned and operated Amos Pump Service in Cumming, GA. Originally started in 1974, by JW Amos, Amos Pump Service has grown to be the area's leader in a variety of pump service needs including installation and servicing. Now, owned and operated by his son, Billy Amos, the family tradition of excellent quality, service and 100% customer satisfaction continues. Our company is locally owned and operated. We are a member of the Better Business Bureau. We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards for payment.

"As a repeat customer, I can say that Billy never fails to deliver great customer service at a great price. He is honest and knowledgeable. We had an issue with our sewage exit drain pipe after record rain. He diagnosed the problem and fixed it. After the hole was dug he also noticed what could be another issue and upon further uncovering, he was 100% correct. Our pipe was semi disconnected just a bit further down the line. Taking care of that problem too while the hole was open saved us money and headaches! Our system is up and running well and the price was more than fair. If you want an honest, knowledgeable contractor, hire Amos!"

"Great people. Showed up on time and found the real problem. They first checked my water pressure and found it to be very high, 105 psi. They replace the water pressure control valve with one that has a dial so I can monitor the pressure, removed and replace the water heater adding a thermal expansion tank and installed a new shut off valve. gave me a real education on plumbing. If they had just done a remove and replace, I never would have discovered the real issue. Could have blown out pipe joints and other fitting and caused a real mess. Highly recommend them."

septic tank pumping and servicing as well as grease trap pumping and servicing, line cleaning, diagnostic servicing of line problems with camera

"I hired Shamrock Septic to pump my septic tank, inspect the interior of the tank, and inspect the field lines. I spoke with Tammy and she advised the price for these services would be $620. As a Veteran, I was pleased to learn Jon is a Navy veteran. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed in the service I received. Jon advised there was a problem with my field lines. However, he could not provide specifics because he was unable to perform the line inspection. He said his equipment would not operate properly given the sludge he assumed was present. He suggested I start getting estimates to replace my entire drain field and provided names and phones numbers for me to call. At my request, he did not re-cover the input side or output side inspection pipes with the dirt he had removed, as I would still need access to these when I could find someone to inspect the lines. When I expressed my displeasure for having to pay for services not received, i.e., the line inspection, and the fact that he did not have to make a trip back to replace the removed dirt, he advised the cost to pump the system was $595 and the cost of a new filter was $35. This could have gone better. I do not recommend Shamrock Septic."

Sewer Cleaning questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $200 to $600, depending on the severity of the blockage and access difficulty.

In the majority of cases, homeowners insurance will not cover a main sewer line root clog. The reason is that most insurance companies consider tree root damage to sewer lines as common wear and tear, which is also preventable. However, you may be able to buy optional add-on coverage, such as "service line coverage" or "sewer line endorsements," that would protect against root damage to your sewer line.

Snakes can occasionally enter homes through shower drains, although it’s quite rare. This can happen when they follow sewer pipes or accidentally find their way into plumbing systems. To minimize the risk, consider installing drain covers or stoppers on your shower drains. Always keep drains closed when they’re not in use, especially in areas where snakes are known to be active.

The cost to unclog a sewer line is between $200 and $600, with the average homeowner spending around $380, depending on the severity of the clog. It can cost as little as $100 to snake a small clog, but you could spend up to $1,600 if you need to video inspect the line and hydrojet a large clog.

Your sewer line can get grimy quickly. To prevent sludge buildup in your sewer line, pour a mixture of 1/3 cup of vinegar and 1/3 cup of baking soda down each drain in your home once a month. After about 30 minutes, flush the drain with hot water.

Some plumbers recommend 3/4 cup of bleach instead to clean any germs and bacteria that may build up in your sewer line. But this won’t break down any active clogs, and it cannot be combined with vinegar, as the mixture will create a toxic, hazardous gas.
