"I had the foam insulation put in my attic and I am very pleased. The results were better than I thought. The attic was reading around 140 degrees and now it is 92 at the hottest part of the day."

"This was a customer friendly experience from the outset. The crew did a great job installing the insulation with making sure they also cleaned up prior to leaving my home. I would highly recommend them."

"Price was about average, can't complain - don't remember exactly how much or exact service date (disclaimer).  Company screwed up the scheduling.  Installer was busy with personal life and we had to work around their schedule.  Inconvenient.  Came out and sprayed insulation in the garage.  They left the door open to the basement so the entire chemical smell inundated the basement.  The spray was general even but there seemed to be small holes and spaces generally through out the insulation.  When I inquired about the small spaces the response was they generally use the small spray cans you can get at Home Depot\Lowes but that they didn't have any.  I said I would take care of it myself, I had enough inconvenience with the screw up in scheduling.  Other than that went well - it's not that involved, just spray foam.
They did clean up the mess relatively well, but not perfect."

"They installed solar panels as per contract. They were on time and removed all material when done. I had roof damage from a storm and they repaired it at no extra cost. So far I am happy with this company and plan on using them again for house repair.

"They didn't end up doing the work. They were really high on what they wanted to do. Other people who looked at the porch said that it was not causing an issue with any water intrusion and that there doesn't seem to be any signs on the posts that this could have been recent, it could have been long ago. So no work was done. It was a front porch that had just the level concrete on one side was dipping just a little bit. I think they were going to pump it up from underneath or something like that to level it out. I would say that their response time and their professionalism of getting the quote to us on a timely manner was good. The quote was high and yet the work was not necessary according to other quotes. They should be honest to say when repairs are necessary and when they are not. The guy who showed up was nice and professional and was on time. There was a decent response time."

Insulation questions, answered by experts

When doing any type of project involving mold, it's important to wear the right protective gear. You'll want an N-95 or KN-95 mask to keep yourself from inhaling mold spores, which can be irritating or trigger an allergic reaction in people with weakened immune systems. You'll also want to wear protective eyewear and gloves to limit your contact with mold.

One of the clearest signs that your insulation isn’t working as well as it should be is a noticeable difference in temperature throughout your home. One room might feel icy while another is hot as Arizona—this indicates that some parts of your home are either retaining or losing heat more than others. Additionally, a sudden increase in your energy bills, evidence of pests or rodents, or evident water damage are other signals that warrant a thorough inspection of your insulation and potential replacement.

A radiant barrier is a form of insulation topped with a reflective material designed to keep homes cool during hotter months. It is generally considered worth the investment if you live in a hot, sunny climate, as the cost can be recouped over time through lower energy bills. Installation costs typically range from $0.10 to $1 per square foot. After installation, homeowners in warm climates may save between $7 and $15 per month, potentially reducing their electric bill by 5% to 10%. The exact savings will vary depending on your location and the type of barrier chosen.

The thickness of floor insulation will depend on the R-value you plan to achieve. R-value varies on the type of material as well as its thickness and density. Insulation materials with low R-values can be layered to match the value of denser materials. As long as your floor insulation is packed tightly, seals the area from drafts, and doesn’t prevent ventilation, it can be as thick (or thin) as you need.

Also known as sound-dampening blankets, acoustic blankets reduce echo in a room. They come in different thicknesses and materials, and they can be nailed or glued to walls.
