"Showed him all the problems inside the house, cracks above doors, crown molding separating from ceiling, closet door not closing .He checked out side and under the floor. Came back inside and explained what needed to be done. The price was reasonable. I set up an appointment to have the work done. Signed contract on Feb 22, 2018 with Richard Medford. The guys came on March 8, 2018 at 9AM to do the work. I was pleased with how they worked."

"I was selling a property and recieved a notification that the mailbox needed to be serviced during the closing process. I couldn't serviced it due to being out of town, so I contacted Mr. Handyman via Angie's List. A rep reached out to me relatively quickly. A Tech was scheduled, and got to the property within 24hours, which was a day before Thanksgiving. The mailbox was serviced. The tech sent me before and after pictures, so I can verify that the particular instructions were followed per HOA requirements. Great service and experience!"

Window Door Contractors questions, answered by experts

A screened-in porch requires maintenance to keep the screens clean and in good shape, and you may have to do some screen repair or replacement from time to time. A screen porch isn’t an all-season porch, so the weather can get in, including wind and rain.

Egress windows require regular maintenance to ensure they function correctly. This includes cleaning the glass, inspecting the frame and well for debris, and making sure the cover or well drains properly. It is also important to check that the window sills and wells are watertight and to inspect and repair any damage to the window frame or seals to prevent leaks and maintain functionality.

Drafts, condensation between panes, difficulty operating, or visible frames or glass damage are signs of needed repairs.

Rescreening your porch can take a few hours to a whole day, depending on the size of the enclosure and the amount of screen that needs replacing. If you decide to have a professional handle the rescreening, be sure to get a timeline and a cost estimate so you know how long you’ll be without the screened-in space.

Window screen repair costs an average of $310, with a typical range of $100 to $480. The final price depends on several factors, including the window size, accessibility, screen type, whether the frame needs replacement, and especially the screen material.

The cost of window screen materials varies widely based on durability and features:

  • Fiberglass: $35–$200

  • Aluminum: $50–$300

  • Copper: $90–$850

  • Stainless Steel: $45–$400

  • Brass: $100–$900

  • Solar: $55–$850

  • Security: $100–$1,000

  • Vinyl: $25–$120

Costs also differ by screen type. For instance, a prefabricated screen might cost only $40, moveable screens typically run $25 to $75, and retractable screens range from $300 to $900. To save money, you can choose more affordable materials like vinyl or fiberglass, opt to rescreen instead of replacing the entire frame, and have multiple screens repaired at once to reduce labor costs.
