In business since 1998. All payments due upon completion. Free estimates. Owner is a retired Industrial Engineer.

"Awful company to deal with! They come in with a great sales pitch: “will do a wonderful job, you’ll be completely satisfied...we can make this tub look like new again...”. Then the work starts, there’s runs and sags in the finish, they (the owners, not the one actually doing the job btw) will find every excuse under the sun (including it’s your fault as your expectations are too high, it’s an old tub, the sprayer equipment malfunctioned, the stars weren’t in alignment, the dog ate their homework, etc) until you just want your money back and them gone from your property. To add insult to injury, the elderly owner wouldn’t give me a full refund even though it was apparent I’d have to pay another company to fix the problems they created—he said it was only fair given the time they spent working on it! What?? How about you reimburse me for my time, aggravation and the cost I’m going to have to incur to fix the problems you created?! Thank goodness I didn’t buy into their sales pitch about re-finishing the tub surround! Honestly, you would be better off looking at an old worn out tub finish than letting them anywhere near your home! Completely unprofessional and an all around shady business to deal with. Stay far, far away!"

Bathtub Restoration questions, answered by experts

For a standard-sized bathtub with minor damage, it takes approximately 3 to 5 hours to refinish. It might take a bit longer if your bathtub refinishing contractor needs to fill in significant cracks or gouges. This is the same if you have a specialty tub, like an oversized bathtub—you can expect your pro to take a bit on the longer side.

While tubs are fairly sturdy, you may notice cracks or holes. This kind of damage can happen from someone accidentally dropping something heavy into the tub. You might also see damage if you drop something heavy into the tub over and over again (like your extra large bottle of body wash). While you might only notice a small dent at first, this can later turn into a crack or a hole.

Also, certain cleaners that are harmful to your tub can cause damage. And if you have a fiberglass tub, you might see cracks if it was not installed properly with the right support.

It is worth it to refinish a bathtub if your current tub is in good shape. Refinishing your tub can remove scratches from wear and tear, cover blemishes and stains, and fill small cracks. However, consider replacing your tub if it’s severely damaged, has large cracks, or leaks.

You're more likely to accidentally crack your plastic tub rather than successfully fixing a hole. You can fix hairline cracks and larger stress cracks with a plastic tub crack repair kit from a home improvement store. You'll need to clean out the tub, apply either the epoxy resin or filler putty compound into the crack, let it dry, and then sand it out.

Depending on your budget, you might consider a new tub as part of your bathroom remodel costs. It could be a good opportunity to update everything after considering all of the bathroom remodel ideas out there.

Most homeowners need to wait at least two days, sometimes three, to use their bathtub following the reglazing process. That’s the normal length of time it takes for epoxy resin to cure. There are quick-dry epoxy kits available that cure in 12 hours, though. To ensure that the epoxy dries properly, try to ventilate the bathroom as well as you can.
