Jeff has been taking care of our yard for five years and does an amazing job!

Jeff treated us like we are a long-term customer of his even though we were having him look at a nasty bush trimming job that would only be sporadically required. He provided really good prompt communication with us with his quote and insurance certificate and kept us well updated on our projected service date as it changed due to bad weather conditions. When Jeff came out and provided the trimming service, he was very protective of our neighbors' driveways, which he needed to use to access the work. He did exactly what we had asked him to do and we feel that he totally understood what was wanted and he went over and above to make us happy. At the end, Jeff took us around the work for a review and inspection to make sure everything was what we expected. If you want to work with someone who will get with you one-on-one and understand what you want done and then do that while leaving the surroundings beautiful and un-touched by his work, then Jeff is the one. Don't get him too busy though, because we want him back periodically to keep the bushes looking good.

Jeff is very knowledgeable when it comes to anything related to lawn care. He kept in communication on the progress and provided education material to refer back to in caring for the new sod that he installed. My yard is completely transformed and has never looked better. I highly recommend Shade Tree.

My wife and I were very pleased with the decision we made to use Jeff Hord and his Shade Tree Landscaping business earlier this month to lay sod in the front, back, and the two side yards of our house in Smyrna. We decided to get 3 different quotes from other landscaping companies in the area and picked Shade Tree because we felt the price was very fair and that Jeff was someone we could trust to do a good job. It helped when we looked at some of his work on the Shade Tree Facebook site and could tell he'd done some great landscape jobs in the past. His communication with us from the beginning was fantastic as he was always quick to answer the phone, return a call, or return an email. He was very knowledgable about what needed to be done and patiently explained anything we needed further clarification on. He even went the extra mile to apply additional herbicide for our old grass in the areas that needed it after our irrigation contractor was delayed in performing their work. Jeff himself and a crew of 1-2 others performed the work over the course of 2 days - tilling and hand-grading all the yards on the first day and laying 8 pallets of Zeon Zoysia sod the next day. They worked thoroughly and tirelessly both days. The end product was something we were very happy with. We'd recommend Shade Tree Landscaping to anyone interested in dealing with someone who is honest, knowledgable and trustworthy while giving you the result of having an excellent looking yard.

We are just getting started with maintenance and some yard project work. Jeff has been very responsive, and is very professional in his approach to the work.

Last year, Jeff completed a gravel and flagstone walkway for me and mulched and applied pine straw to my beds. I was very satisfied with his work and his communication. This year I called him for mulch, pine straw and pruning and my experience was just as positive. He arrived on time, he made some great suggestions for alternatives to different beds in the yard and completed the work quickly and cleaned up any debris. I will be calling him again for future projects.

Jeff did a major sod installation for me. He did a great job prepping the yard and correctly installing my new Zorro zoysia lawn. He took the time to address my concerns about the sod stapling and for helped me resolve the watering deficiencies on my newly installed lawn. He even went above and beyond to water the dry areas of the lawn when he came out on site the next day to finish up the beds--even though it wasn't his responsibility. He is honest, reliable and punctual-- a true professional with a strong work ethic.
