"My original idea was to "do-it-myself".  I actually went to the big box store and had an outline made, picked cabinets, etc.  I am so glad I did not go through with it because it never would have fit, and I would have missed out on some new cabinet and counter top options.  Not to mention, I would not have met Iris.  She arrived with tape measure in hand, and explained in detail why some of my design would not work.  Her suggestions were wonderful, and fit in my budget which was essential.  She was as excited as I was with the overall design,and it was really fun for me to meet with her and discuss sinks, faucets, knobs, etc.  Iris was always available to meet with me, and always had time for my phone calls with many questions.  I have a very country style home, and I wanted to reflect that in my kitchen.  Iris was open to all my ideas, and using her expertise, I have a beautiful quartz countertop, a farm looking sink, Shaker style cabinets, and a cottage faucet.  In addition, she introduced things I did not know were now available:  a large narrow pull-out spice cabinet to fill up an unused space; deep lower cabinet drawers instead of the usual doored cabinets; a huge lazy susan in a corner for storage; polished nickel knobs; trim molding on top and below the cabinets; side panels which really dress up the whole room; a beautiful arch matching the cabinets over the kitchen window; and a separate hidden garbage area with a recycle bin!!.  
Iris is honest too; I wanted a glass front cabinet, but she explained it would not provide a balanced look in my small  kitchen, and besides, it would be out of my budget.  Iris was there for each aspect of the job.  To this day, I consider her a friend, and have recommended her to friends.  But most important, I still LOVE my kitchen- very single day!"
