"I had the WORST experience ever with this company including the owner and the main installer. BUYER BEWARE. I REGRET using this company and these people and would NEVER dare recommend them, not even to my worst enemy. I will start by saying that I am still missing 2 plantation shutters and the tint on my front doors. My house was built brand new and completed 9/25/2018(the day we got the c/o). We waited to settle in to get the shutters. The house is brand new. Not one curtain hung and nothing to cover all the windows prior to them coming. They DESTROYED my window sills. They are now chipped, discolored from over caulking, dented and one is missing a huge chunk of wood. After I was promised 30 days from giving my deposit to installation day, 30 days came and went with no call from the company updating me on the status of my shutters and when the new installation date would be. Had I not have called the owner of the company to get a status update I would never have known that it would be an additional three weeks before they would be here to install my shutters. I was calm and patient with them and understood that it was summer and a lot of people were doing what I was and the shutter company was backed up. A simple phone call would have been the professional thing to do. Installation day arrives and the installers are running several hours late for our appointment. When the installers got here they were literally going so fast trying to get the project done and mind you I have a 3500 square-foot heated and cooled home and it was a lot of windows that needed plantation shutters. They were going so fast that one of the shutters was propped up against the window on the window sill And because he was not paying attention the shutter fell down not only did it crack in 1 million pieces but it chipped my window sill and my brand new toilet. In addition, it was discovered that after waiting nearly 50 Plus days to get the shutters in an installation day and time that they sent the wrong measurements for several windows. As a result they were unable to hang some of the shutters. I was told by the installer after making a phone call to the owner Paul, That they would get The correct shutters from Skandia within a week and be back to install. On my daughters life a month and a half went by with no phone call no update no return calls no messages no nothing on the status of the missing shutters and the broken shutters. I had sent a detailed message to the owner Paul, explaining to him all of the stuff that needed to be fixed and repaired as a result of the installers negligent behavior in my brand new home. Never one time did Paul call to reassure me that he would rectify the problem and take care of it, nor did he seem to care that I was missing shutters and that his installers had treated my home with such disrespect. After several phone calls and weeks and weeks later Paul finally decided to start calling me back to complete the project. However we were traveling much of the summer and we were out of the country and not available via phone much of the time. I tried to reach him when we got back to the country and he did not answer the phone. I called Paul left voicemails and he called me back several days later. At that point I was so frustrated and disgusted that I could not even face this guy or talk to him. I gave him a $3000 deposit on a job that was supposed to be done from contract to completion in 31 days, However it?s now been six months and I am still missing two shutters, window sills that need replaced,And have no resolution to rectifying this problem. Point blank the few times that I was able to contact the owner Paul, he was buying a boat, on the boat, at the beach house, and just did not care about his customers or the service we were receiving. BUYER BEWARE and stay away from this company. I have never been treated like this ever especially considering this was a $7000 job."

"Very responsive, great products, and top notch installation at competitive prices. The new films are far superior to our originals, which had started to peel. Cleanup was also meticulous. I would definitely hire Mike again. (He loves his work, so be prepared for a lot of information and longer than average installation times. (Our 36 pieces of film took an entire day.) Ask about available discounts!"

We are a family owned and operated business and guarantee your satisfaction 100%. We do quality work at an affordable price.

"This is my 4th car I've had done there and I've referred several friends. Got bubbles on the back glass so I took it up there with my lifetime warranty paperwork and he said I'll call you within the hour to get you on the books.....no call. I called two weeks later and asked about it and he said I can get you in but it will be (I think 6 weeks) so I said okay. Night before my appointment a text to cancel. I said okay, what's the soonest you can get me back on the books. This went on for 3-4 more weeks, I stopped by a second time, promises to get me on the books but then nothing. I finally texted and said if you don't plan to uphold your warranty work then just tell me so I can pay someone else to do it. Crickets. I opened a BBB case and they also don't respond to them. I guess if you don't ever get a bunch of bubbles in your tint then you might be okay going here but if you plan on using any warranty they won't do the "free" work for you. And if I get a response to the review saying anything other than all of what I put in here is factual and true then I'll post this review on every other site that I can find and post the entire text thread that shows you gave me the runaround for months and then ignored me. Terrible, crooked people running this shop now."

"I was on the market for a security system and this one seemed easy enough to install.......went through the process and some of the window sensors were not working. I called Customer Support who was very friendly and we went through the entire process again...this time other window sensors did not work. This went on for a week or so...then the door senors stopped working....than the motion sensor stopped working...at no time in over a month did I have a fully operational security system. As I was about to return the system I was told they have "new" sensors and they just realized they received a bad batch and are working with another company.....Gave it a try....and same issue returned....some sensors worked....some didn't. I finally returned the system and stopped getting emails.....only to find that they were still billing my credit card even after I returned the equipment. Very nice people and very understanding.....unfortunately their product is not up to par. While we do have a large home, it's an open concept and the sensors that weren't working were no more than 15ft away from the base. The previous owners of my house had a wireless system with no issues at all.....I'm going to be using that company going forward."

Hurricane Film questions, answered by experts

Yes, home insurance coverage includes hail damage. An HO-1 insurance policy offers the most basic coverage for homeowners. In every homeowners’ insurance policy, the insurer includes a list of perils (or dangers) that you’re covered from, and HO-1 policies almost always include protection against hail and windstorms as well as other perils like fire, lightning, and vandalism. All you need to do is file a homeowners insurance claim, and your insurer will send you a check for the amount covered.

High winds can be harmful to casement windows and all types of windows. Because casement windows can swing outward, high winds could slam the window against the side of the house, bend the hinges, or even rip the window off of the hinges. If you hear some strong gusts outside, it’s best to pull the casement windows shut until it all blows over.

Yes, hail damage to your roof can definitely cause water leaks in your roof. This is because hailstones can break, chip, crack, or split shingles of all types, exposing underlayment. This underlayment doesn’t offer as much protection against water, so when it becomes compromised, water can penetrate and leak deeper into your home.

Most insurance companies require a hail damage insurance claim to be filed within one year of the date the hailstorm happened. However, each insurance carrier and policy is different, so check with your specific carrier before you decide to delay filing a claim. In general, the quicker you file a hail damage claim, the better the outcome will be.

If a window breaks during a hurricane, the first thing to do is get away from it, shut the door to the room, and move to a different part of your home. Ideally, you should wait out the storm in a room that doesn’t have any windows. Afterward, safely throw out the broken glass while wearing gloves and call a window replacement professional to discuss your options.
