"Horrible! On 15 April 2019, 1322 hrs I called Chace at 727-514-2360 and set up a time for him to come and give me an estimate. He came by that afternoon after finishing another job and gave me an estimate of $5,000. He said he would need $2,000 as a deposit when the job began. He said he could start on Monday, 22 April. On Monday afternoon, 22 April 2019 Chace and his crew came to my home and accepted a $2,00 deposit and gave me an invoice for the expected work, invoice #697606. During our conversation, I told him I would not tolerate him not being here to work unless he spoke with me or texted me to let me know something happened. He and his crew assured me they will always be there and they do not take time off from the job. Chace said even if he had to work the weekend, he would get the job done in 5-7 days. They will begin the job the next morning, 23 April. On Tuesday morning, at about 0830 hrs, Chase and his crew showed up and began working on bedrooms 2 and 3. On Thursday, 25 April, they broke my son’s bed by trying to put it back into place. They ripped the metal fixtures out of the footboard, breaking the wood. He was worried about paying for damages and I told him I am a woodworker and could easily repair it and not to worry about it. I began to notice his work was very sloppy and careless. He left paint on my daughter’s blanket and her favorite sweatshirt. He also left paint on my son’s leather jacket. He left paint on the bedroom furniture in several places and over-sprayed paint onto the doorknobs and painted over the switches and outlets. He told me he was going to do the living room, hallway, foyer, and kitchen in one day, the next day and would begin early in the morning and I would need to have all the pictures, etc off the wall and have the furniture in the middle of the room so they can work without obstructions. On Friday, 26 April 2019, at 1021 hrs, I texted Chace asking his status. He replied at 1022 saying he was outside my home. He and part of his crew came in and I pointed out a punch list of things he missed, all easy touch-ups. He said he needed to get more corner bead and would be right back. He never returned. At 1238 hrs and again at 1255 hrs, I called him with no answer. I called and texted several more times, all with no answer or response. I began taking pictures documenting the damages and defects of their workmanship. Today, 27 April 2019, I began investigating his business status and discovered he is not licensed under the State of Florida to work as a contractor. at 0914 hrs, I called him again, and again no answer. At 0937 hrs I called him from my daughter’s phone and he answered immediately. As soon as I said my name, he hung up. At 1037 hrs I texted him from my daughter’s phone warning him to contact me immediately or I would begin filing criminal and civil charges. At 1038 hrs I texted him from my phone with the same message. By 1200 hrs he had not contacted me and I filed charges online with the State of Florida Department of Professional Regulation. While they conduct their own investigation, they pursue administrative sanctions but not criminal or civil charges. I am also pursuing criminal charges of Fraud and Unlicenced Contractor, both felonies in the State of Florida."
