Customers say: True professional

"David Bruno was the main tech for the job with his asst., Luis. The job was large with white carpet and very dirty lanai chair cushions! David and Luis did a phenomenal job!!! The carpet looks better than ever!!!! The upholstery of the lanai furniture is unbelievable...mold and grayness is gone!!!! David was professional and honest. They both worked hard and went above and beyond to get stains out and make the carpet as good as possible!!! I will use them again! Highly recommend!!!"

"I read alot of bad reviews, about Empire. However, my project was completed efficiently from start to finish in a very professional and satisfactory manner. For myself, Empire turned out to be the right choice for my project. I am very pleased with the experience and the results. Mark was an excellent, experienced salesman. He knew is product and how to direct me on my request. Pepe installed the carpet I purchased, ALONE, in 4 bedrooms. He worked nonstop, and did a great job. The carpet is still tight, no nail tacks, and looks beautiful."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

A 65-oz. carpet is good, and in many cases, it indicates a premium carpet. Most carpets for homes should fall in the range of 40 to 60 ounces for face weight. If a carpet has a 65-oz. face weight, it is likely more durable and long-lasting than a similar carpet with a lower face weight. Carpet face weight is just one factor in determining a carpet’s quality.

Yes, you can put carpet directly on concrete. However, you need to take certain precautions to ensure the success of the carpet installation. For example, you’ll need to choose a synthetic carpet pad to provide insulation and cushioning and a vapor barrier to prevent moisture from seeping into the carpet.

It is normal to glue carpet down, though it’s not the only or the most popular method of installing carpet. Modern techniques include tack strips and stretching the carpet, but you might still find glued carpet in older homes or a home with a DIY’d past. Removing a glued-down carpet will be harder compared to other methods of installation.

Many DIYers and pros start installing flooring in the middle of a room to ensure a balanced, symmetrical layout, especially when using tiles or planks. This process is particularly helpful in odd-shaped rooms because it allows you to create a centerline from which to work. Beginning in the center will enable you to work toward the edges so the final layout feels intentional and centered, even if the walls aren’t perfectly square.

DIY installation is challenging; professionals ensure proper fitting, adhesive application, and long-term durability.
