"I am very happy with the results. The installation process was smooth and professional, and the technicians were courteous and knowledgeable. They explained everything to me clearly and answered all my questions. They also cleaned up after themselves and left no mess behind. The new HVAC system is a Carrier model, which is one of the best HVAC companies of 2023 according to U.S. News & World Report."

"Don installed a VACUFLO DB3000 central vacuum base unit for me this evening. Great guy - dedicated and knowledgeable, and quality workmanship. The previous owner replaced the inlet valves but left the wires on one of them inside the wall, unconnected. Don was able to find it amongst adjacent phone and cable wires, dig it out and connect it. I d highly recommend both VACUFLO and Don to anyone looking to replace their central vac."

"I called Don to fix our central vacuum that I believed was clogged with styrofoam from a pool toy that the dogs ripped up. It was clogged but Don also found that there was a leak in a pipe inside the wall. Instead of having to cut through the wall Don went up into the attic space and found the problem.
While he could have fixed that leaking pipe, he found that the entire outlet wasn't necessary and we could just cap it off and bypass it using a neighboring outlet.
He worked quickly and effectively - and solved the problem. The vac works great now.
The $200 was the repair but also included $80 worth of accessories that we needed, because the vac came with the home we bought, which was built in the 1980s so most of the accessories were old and missing.

"Fast, efficient service, done with a personal interest in your success and satisfaction. Scott, the owner, and Andrew, his technician are a terrific team. They removed my Beam Central Vac unit, repaired the defective switch, replaced my old filter and returned the unit and reinstalled it on the same day! Their pricing was modest and due consideration was given to the customer's circumstances. This is a company that cares. I wouldn't think of taking my business elsewhere."

Central Vacuum Systems questions, answered by experts

Common repairs for central vacuum cleaners include motor repair, electrical repair, and blocked filters. Central vacuum motor issues typically come with a burning smell and loss of suction. With these issues, you might need simple lubrication to keep it running smoothly, or for more extreme problems, you could need a motor replacement.

Electrical problems or losing suction strength, might be reasons to swap out electrical components for new ones. However, a local central vacuum repair professional can tell you the best plan of action for your system.

Yes, installing a central vacuum system typically adds value to your home. The ease of use, longevity, and superior suction power of a central vacuum system can add up to $2,000 to your home’s value if you decide to sell. Potential buyers may consider the central vacuum a perk to purchasing your home.

They’ll use more electricity than the average upright vacuum, but not remarkably more. Most power units plug into a standard 120-volt outlet and don’t have significant power demands. You shouldn’t notice an increase in electricity bills. If you have any specific questions about energy costs, ask your installer as you examine purchase decisions. Larger power units will need more electricity for their suction levels.

No. Only the hose or the attachments are portable in a central vacuum system. A portable vacuum is a standalone model like a stick, canister, or upright. A central vacuum system is defined by a central power unit, which is installed in one place like an AC unit, and the connected network of piping to funnel the suction.

While caulking is handy for quite a bit of jobs, it’s still limited. Any crack or gap larger than 1/4 inch is best left for a more intensive repair job. When you hire house painters, they should run a thorough check to see what they need to repair before they start the job.

Large repairs that caulking typically won’t do well with include cracks or holes larger than a 1/4 inch, rotted wood, or metal surfaces, such as garage doors.
