"The overall experience I had with casework specialties was great. The quality of the work is stunning, I will definitely be using this company again. For the amount and quality of the work the price was well worth the product. Customer service was great and everything was completed in a timely manner. "Travis and his work is amazing. I could not recommend him more highly. You will not find in Tallahassee anyone who takes such pride in their work and strives to go the extra mile to do the very best work that can be done for you and your home improvement desires. His rates are very reasonable and you can tell he generally enjoys helping others and is not just trying to nickel and dime for his time. He has done a couple of different projects for me, and each time he carefully studies and researches the different approaches until he is confident that we are taking the absolute best course of action possible, what more could you possibly want?"

"We had our absurdly tiny and outdated 8 x 9 kitchen transformed by Nationwide Kitchen.
We had spent weeks shopping around and getting quotes and ideas from various vendors, including Home Depot and Lowes. As one of our last ditch efforts, we walked into the showroom on Cattleman Dr with pictures of our kitchen and left with a draft layout of a workable solution. They designed a new layout for us by removing a nonsupporting wall with a pass-through, and opening up the room to become a 12 x 16 dream kitchen . They worked with us to meet our timeline by ordering our cabinets from a supplier with a quick turnaround, and they were also able give us a great price on the granite countertops. We were more than satisfied every step of the way.

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

You can put hot pans on porcelain countertops. Porcelain is highly resistant to heat—it’s manufactured at around 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit, so it can withstand a ton of heat without cracking or damaging. Even though the high heat is a plus, you should still be cautious when putting hot surfaces on porcelain countertops.

Original Gorilla Glue is not a good choice for laminate countertops. It is not a contact cement, which is the best choice for this material, and it does not explicitly state that it should be used on laminate. Perhaps the best reason to avoid using Gorilla Glue on laminate is that it expands three times its original size, which could lead to your laminate being pushed away from the countertops.

Installing granite kitchen countertops costs about $3,250, ranging from $2,000 to $4,000, depending on the quantity and quality of the granite, use of granite tile or granite slabs, the type of granite, and its color and texture. Varieties of granite include:

  • Alaska white: $35 per square foot

  • Ubatuba: $30–$60 per square foot

  • Silver cloud: $35–$40 per square foot

  • Absolute black: $45–$60 per square foot

  • Black galaxy: $50–$70 per square foot

  • Blue Louise: $70–$100 per square foot

  • Crema Bordeaux: $80 per square foot

  • Solarius: $60 per square foot

Engineered stone countertops range in price between $60 and $200 per square foot. The three main types are quartz, recycled glass, and sintered stone. The most affordable is sintered stone, which is ideal for outdoor kitchens and costs $60 to $100 per square foot.

Recycled glass countertops fall in the middle at $65 to $140 per square foot and offer a very distinct look. Meanwhile, quartz counters are on the higher end of the price range at $50 to $200 per square foot. Popular quartz options mimic the look of natural stones like marble and granite.

These countertops are durable, non-porous, and available in various styles. They’re also easy to maintain.
