"Ron is a fantastic jack-of-all-trades. Ron renovated the roof of our large old pole barn and put in a concrete floor. We were very pleased with the work and he gave us the most competitive estimate - and then stuck to that estimate! We had the unfortunate luck that a large tree fell in our barn soon after completion. What re the chances!? We again hired Ron - this time to clear the tree and repair the (now severely damaged) pole barn. Trust him entirely! His work is great and he is easy to communicate with."

"I had multiple tunnels made by an armadillo under my house concrete slab that went as far as 22 feet. I needed these to be pressure filled before having a new concrete patio poured. They were able to get the job scheduled quickly and completed on time. Blake and Coop (may be spelled wrong) did a professional job. I would highly recommend this company to anyone in need of foundation repair work."

"I had gutters installed, some waterproofing and more of a drainage system put in place. I called Groundup Leveling because I had water seepage into bedroom. Marcus was quick to respond and took time to explain and make suggestions. Entire team was pleasant and efficient. Reasonably priced with a good warranty. I would highly recommend them!"

"Sturdy Soil did an outstanding job on my driveway and walkway. My issues of sinking sections were taken care of and now fit perfectly, as well as other areas that would have become a problem in the near future. Their service was profesional, neet and priced way better than other bid's I had received. I would highly recommend their company and would not hesitate to call them again for any job I might need done."

Concrete Mudjacking questions, answered by experts

There is no real alternative to underpinning, although mudjacking and polyjacking are other repair methods that can add support from underneath your foundation. Rather than placing supportive piers under your structure, these involve pumping a material under your slab to lift a sunken section back into its original position. Polyjacking, in particular, is sometimes a suitable solution for stabilization issues under slab foundations, but underpinning is often accepted as the best and most permanent solution.

Many contractors offer warranties for their work. Confirm terms before starting the project.

Trenching and boring are two distinct methods for installing underground utilities. Trenching involves digging a channel using equipment like an excavator, trencher, backhoe, or shovel. While it is a simpler process, it causes significant disruption to the surface, landscaping, and surrounding ecosystems.

Boring, also known as directional boring, is a less invasive alternative that uses a drill to create a tunnel for utility lines without disturbing the surface. This method is more precise and is ideal for installations that need to go underneath buildings, roads, or bodies of water. Although boring is less disruptive, it is generally more expensive than trenching.

Yes, expanding foam (also known as polyurethane foam) can lift concrete. This approach, called polyjacking, involves injecting the foam rather than concrete slurry to fill voids and raise the concrete slab back into place. It’s often faster and requires smaller drill holes than traditional mudjacking, though it may come at a higher cost. Some contractors also prefer polyjacking over mudjacking for more damaged and delicate slabs.

A good slump height really depends on the project, but there is a use for nearly all slump levels. For example, low slumps are best in projects that require structure, such as curbs and roads. High slumps often require additional reinforcement, but they flow more freely into hard-to-reach spaces.
