"We had the best water softner installed by Shawn and his team. I love it! My skin feels softer and my hair feels healthier amongst many other benefits. You want this softner in your life. They also replaced our side door out of garage and a few other random plumbing issues. We had a delay in getting the particular door we wanted (supply chain issue) and Shawn kept us updated every step of the way. Top notch, friendly and reliable service. We've used them before and will continue to use them for home improvements/repairs that are out of our realm of expertise."

"Things I loved - no up-charge for having a weekend emergency. The gentleman who came was on time and very polite. Things I did not love - there was a bit of confusion between the price I was told on the phone and the price the plumber billed. When I shared that, he immediately apologized and changed it - but since he never gave me an estimate and the one I had came from a phone call, I didn't care for that moment. As far as "rating the work quality" - it seems fine. I called because I don't know much about plumbing. Assuming the work all holds up beyond a day or two, it seemingly will have been fine work quality. But it all seems good and it was in the end a very fair price - and I would call them again."

"I wanted a small update / remodel of my kitchen , new sink, faucet, garbage disposal and dishwasher .The dishwasher needed electrical and all new plumbing. I called Richards and immediately spoke to Renee. Renee told me they could meet all my need and they proceeded to help and guide me on what I needed regarding the garbage disposal. She told me to make sure I measured correctly . As I shopped for these items I touched base with her several times to make sure I had the right things like a faucet that would fit the sink and the holes that came with it. Renee was invaluable, always patient and very knowledgeable. She certainly made my comfort level literally a lot more â comfortableâ . She told me the costs up front and about how long the job would take considering new electric and some new plumbing would need to be run. On my big day Michael the plumber and Caden and Charlie the electricians arrived on time. They all got right to work. When the project was finished the new wall socket matched my others and during this project install the grout around my counters was broken and Michael regrouped all around the counter top , looked better than the original. All the lctrical line and the new place in the electric panel looked very nice. Michael also â educatedâ me for which I was grateful like since I am a snowbird put a little olive oil in the disposal when I leave to cut down on possible rust. He showed me the disposal warranty told me it was free and crawled underneath the sink to take a picture of the numbers so I could do the free registration for the warranty. When they all finished they brought in their shop vac and proceeded to sweep up their mess. These three men were professional, knowledgeable ,showed great respect for myself and my home. I asked Caden to look over my electrical panel to make sure it was all up to â snuffâ which he said. This whole project started with Renee and the comfort I felt in talking to her, she was never hurried always answered all my questions and was so knowledgeable. She just plain understood what I was trying to do when I told her everything I wanted was just plumbing and electrical. My job is wonderful I walk around my new kitchen and just canâ t stop smiling. Richard you have quite a staff and I would recommend them to anyone that wants a top notch job done at a fair price. These men charge by the hour and not one minute was spent not being productive and with this pandemic they were all masked. Thank you Renee, Michael, Caden and Charlie."

"This company was awesome. They listen to what we said about the clogged pipe, came out the next day (called them after 5:00 pm), service was excellent, and the price was VERY reasonable. We already had a quote from another company, and they were twice the price, I would highly recommend Kelly's Plumbing to everybody. Thank you!!!!"

Plumbing questions, answered by experts

Removing calcium and lime buildup will often fix a clogged faucet head. You can usually remove any buildup with distilled white vinegar or a combination of vinegar, dish soap, and baking soda. Sometimes, the problem is buildup on the aerator, in which case removing and cleaning that part should fix your water flow. However, the design of some aerators makes them difficult to clean. For those, replacing the aerator will get the faucet flowing well again.

While plumber’s tape is a great solution for many plumbing problems, there are some times when it’s not the right product for the job at hand.

You shouldn’t use plumber’s tape on pipe connections in any of the following scenarios:

  • When connecting PVC pipes

  • If the pipe has wide threads, as water can still leak through the space between the threads

  • If the pipe has very tight threads, as the tape would prevent a proper connection

  • If the pipe threads are damaged, which would prevent the tape from providing a watertight seal

If your predicament is similar to any of these, a licensed plumber can help you solve the problem.

PVC pipes are more affordable and applicable in most parts of your home’s plumbing system than copper pipes. They also require less maintenance. The only major restriction with PVC pipes is their low heat tolerance. Therefore, they’re not your best option for supplying hot water from the water heater throughout your home. PVC pipes are also larger in diameter, so they may not fit into certain spaces in your home.

Yes, a toilet, sink, and shower can share the same vent. This is a common plumbing practice that can simplify installation and save space. When sharing a vent, it's important that the toilet is located downstream from all other fixtures. You will also need to ensure the vent pipe is large enough to handle the demands of all connected fixtures without compromising its effectiveness. Because requirements can vary, you should always check your local building and plumbing codes. Consulting a qualified plumber is recommended to ensure the vent is properly sized, installed, and adheres to all local regulations.

You generally cannot replace a 10-inch rough-in toilet with a 12-inch model without making significant plumbing updates. A 12-inch rough-in toilet will not fit a 10-inch rough-in space because the floor drain is in the wrong position. To accommodate the larger toilet, you would need to move the drainpipe, which could cost between $0.75 and $30 per linear foot, plus labor. In most cases, it is more cost-effective and simpler to purchase a new 10-inch rough-in toilet. However, it is possible to install a 10-inch rough-in toilet in a 12-inch space by using a longer connector.
