"Robert is meticulous to detail. He completely replaced our kitchen cabinet doors as well as custom bedroom closets. And, he's a nice guy! We felt his pricing reasonable. We highly recommend Robert."

"Neyi was my designer and she is AMAZING! She really knows what she is doing. She pays attention to detail, listens, and is really able to understand the vision the client has in mind. Her response time for everything was excellent! If you texted or called her, she responded right away. I asked her for several options and she always responded without hesitation. My home is cozy, warm, and just amazing... now we always have friends over because we are so excited to share our beautiful space with others. Affordable interior design is definitely the best! We are planning on purchasing another home in a year and I plan on reaching out to Neyi again."

"Due to age and loaded with arthritis I had to contract a bedroom painting job for the first time and the whole process from the initial estimate meeting with (Mike) to the painter (Angie) doing the job was done in a professional manner. Angie was very neat and thorough. I highly recommend Vasquez and Vasquez for any painting needs."

"I hired Mikalai to replace a patio screen door that was damaged from hurricane Milton. He arrived on time, was very friendly, and professional. He purchased the door for me, retrofitted the frame, and replaced all the door hardware. I showed him another interior bifold closet door that I wanted to get fixed at a future date and he went so far as to repair it and did not charge me for it. He cleaned up when he was done. When I told him that we could not row away the damaged patio door in the compactor because I would get fined, he offered to dispose it for only $20. He provided an invoice that did not include any surprise charges. I am very happy with my repair and have already talked with him about doing a future painting project for my condo. The pictures include 2 ?before? and the ?after? which is the pretty white door that looks new lol."

"After Hurricane Helene all our doors, baseboard and trim had to be replaced. Because of that I asked him if we could do a nicer trim detail than what was there before. It was not an issue and it looked fantastic. He also built and installed a mantel for my fireplace."

Closets questions, answered by experts

A foyer or entryway is typically a formal landing area for guests, located at the primary entrance of a home. It is often more formally decorated and connects directly to the main living space. In contrast, a mudroom is a more casual, utilitarian room, usually leading in from a secondary entrance like a garage or the side or rear of the house. It serves as a space for residents to remove shoes and outerwear to keep mud, dirt, and water out of the main home.

Hanging and folding clothes are efficient ways to pack your clothes during a move. When choosing a packing method, consider the type of clothing you’re packing. For example, clothing such as dresses, suits, blouses, and items made of silk and similar fabrics are ideal for hangers. On the other hand, it’s easier to fold pants, shorts, t-shirts, thick sweaters, and more.

There are certainly luxury upgrades you can make but you can seriously improve the look and functionality of a closet without spending much money. Color matching will make the closet seem bigger so any shelves painted the same as the wall is a good tip. While pre-made closet organizers may seem expensive they offer an aesthetic look that's hard to achieve with DIY methods. Lastly, removing clutter and unworn items will help the closet seem bigger and cleaner.

Yes, adding a built-in or custom closet generally increases your home's value and makes it more attractive to potential buyers. A well-designed closet adds utility, organization, and a touch of luxury, which are appealing selling points. Most homeowners see a return on investment (ROI) of 50% to 60%; for example, a custom closet can add about $1,000 to your home's value on average. The specific ROI depends on the type, with custom walk-in closets typically providing more value than reach-in closets. However, to maximize value, ensure the closet doesn't significantly detract from the room's usable square footage. Converting an entire room into a closet can actually lower your home's value. Similarly, using overly lavish materials may not recoup their cost. A good strategy is to add a closet that takes square footage from a non-living area, such as a garage, to create a mudroom closet.

A standard walk-in closet has dimensions of 7 feet by 10 feet at a minimum and an average of 100 square feet. Remember that the dimensions of the closet aren’t necessarily the usable space. This means that a 100-square-foot walk-in closet with shelves on each wall and an island may only have a walkable area of 50 square feet or less. Make sure you consider the effect of additions when you plan the room—mockups are a great idea.
