"This is a great option for painting your house. The crew did an excellent job. They were on time and worked very well together as a team. Pressure washing was excellent. All paint to house was sprayed and backrolled with two coats. Fascia, soffit and gutters were sprayed, or hand rolled. No drips or errors. Victor is great to work with and answered the phone EVERY time we called! We will use them for our indoor project next year. Pricing was very fair. Not cheap or expensive. but fair. An excellent option for painting your house, in my opinion."

"We had Leo clean and paint our driveway and concrete pool deck and porch. He works clean and works with meticulous attention to detail. It just looks stunning. He is always on time and explains what he will be doing as he goes. Even his proposals are in great detail and he double checks color choices just prior to avoid mistakes. I have already referred him to several friends with great confidence. There are several other projects that need to be done, and I plan to call on him when we are ready."

Customers say: True professional

"It was a great experience working with Nelson Brothers Painting (Lary and Gary) and having them paint the full exterior of our house. The initial process, they asked a quite few very good questions which related to the timetable and ensuring their high-quality work. They kept us aware of their progress throughout the process, identified other issues regarding the house that we should consider addressing, and followed up quickly on any special requests we made. All in all, a great experience working with the Nelson Brothers, and we are a hundred percent satisfied with the finished work. They are highly recommended by us."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Staining pressure-treated wood is a recommended practice. While inherently resilient, it's not impervious to moisture and UV exposure. Staining treated wood is feasible and recommended for enhanced protection and longevity. Applying stain and sealant safeguards against degradation, prolonging its life span. These measures shield the wood from environmental threats while augmenting its aesthetic appeal, ensuring your investment endures the test of time.

It’s best to use an exterior latex acrylic paint to promote maximum adhesion to composite decking. This flexible paint type can better cope with the natural expansion and contraction that can occur with composite deck boards. Oil-based paints won’t adhere as effectively and are more likely to crack and peel as the boards flex. Testing whether your chosen paint will stick on an inconspicuous section or a spare board is a good idea.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.

You can paint over old paint on a concrete porch. For the best results, you should first clean the surface and remove as much paint as you can. A power washer is helpful here, but you’ll also want to scrape as much of the old paint away as possible. Then you should prime the porch before repainting it.

Limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces if you apply them correctly. Use on non-suitable surfaces can cause issues. For instance, applying limewash or whitewash to surfaces with existing sealants or incompatible materials may lead to poor adhesion or flaking. Also, harsh cleaning agents on limewashed or whitewashed surfaces can damage the finish. Proper preparation, application, and maintenance ensure that limewash and whitewash do not harm surfaces.
