"They were professional installing the windows and replaced one window that had a flaw and replaced a window that was incorrect. They respoonded as soon as they had the windows, they were replaced. As soon as the inspection was completed, they were at the house within a few days to complete the final installation. Highly recommend this company."

"Great quality workmanship and very happy with the result to date..........but just a very expensive process for covering the walls in half a day with a piece of acrylic/plastic/vinyl."

"We are very pleased with the outcome of our guest bathroom project. We converted the bathtub to a walk in shower. The result is a beautiful modern shower that functions as well as it looks. Every person who worked on the project was expert in their specialty and very personable. I highly recommend Island Homes and Renovations for a sure bet on a professional and worthy experience."

"Tony did an amazing job with our sauna. Very professional from start to finish. Tony has also done other work for us including installing lights, shelves and a microwave oven. When we moved to this area 5 year ago we were concerned on finding a Doctor, Mechanic and a Handyman. So far we have a Doctor and Handyman!"

Bathtub Replacement questions, answered by experts

Roman tubs are very different from ordinary tubs. A Roman tub is typically deeper and broader than a traditional tub, and it's often installed on a custom platform with the faucet positioned on the deck rather than on the wall. Ordinary tubs are more shallow and usually feature built-in shower options.

DIY installation of a walk-in tub is not recommended as it is a challenging and risky project that requires advanced plumbing knowledge. Professional installation is crucial to ensure a proper and safe setup, water-tight conditions, adherence to local building codes, and the preservation of your product's warranty.

It’s substantially less expensive to reglaze a tub than to replace it. The average cost of reglazing a bathtub is between $400 and $700, but that range may be higher based on where you live and the type of tub you have. Meanwhile, if you want to replace the bathtub, you’re looking at $2,000 to $9,400, with the average close to $5,700.

We don’t recommend using a tub liner to cover up cracks in a bathtub. Instead, you should repair the cracks yourself if you have the experience or hire a pro. Cracks may seem like small surface imperfections, but they can lead to much larger issues, so repair them as soon as you can.

The impact of a walk-in tub on home value depends on various factors, including market demand, demographic preferences, and overall home features. While some buyers may view it as a desirable accessibility feature, others might see it as a niche amenity, potentially limiting the pool of interested buyers. However, it could add value if the walk-in tub meets specific needs or enhances the property's appeal to a target demographic. Ultimately, its effect on home value varies case by case, with factors like installation quality, design, and neighborhood trends playing roles in determining its impact.
