"Tony did an amazing job with our sauna. Very professional from start to finish. Tony has also done other work for us including installing lights, shelves and a microwave oven. You can put a structure under your bathtub for support. Many modern tubs come with a built-in support structure underneath. Almost any type of mortar or floor-leveling compound is acceptable for new bathtubs that don’t include a support structure.

You can also install spray foam under an existing bathtub to eliminate or reduce squeaking or sagging. However, spray foam isn’t rigid enough for primary tub support.

Installing a clawfoot tub with a minimum of 6 inches of clearance from surrounding walls allows ample room for the faucet and pipework, makes cleaning easier, and reduces the chance of moisture being trapped between the tub and the walls. It might need to be closer if the faucet comes directly out of the wall.

If you have an alcove in your bathroom, you don’t necessarily need to install an alcove tub. You can choose a drop-in tub and fit the frame to the alcove. This allows you to get a more custom or spa-like look. Think cultured marble or tiling for the frame versus the simpler look of acrylic or fiberglass with an alcove tub.

Roman tubs are very different from ordinary tubs. A Roman tub is typically deeper and broader than a traditional tub, and it's often installed on a custom platform with the faucet positioned on the deck rather than on the wall. Ordinary tubs are more shallow and usually feature built-in shower options.
