"Submitted a request through one of the contractor finder services, and Thomas from Bladecutters called within minutes of the request went out. I spoke with Thomas about the work I wanted performed (some grading and installation of a parking pad). Thomas provided suggestions on how the work should be done and some of the options I would have regarding materials. He provided a quote for the work within a day, and was able to complete the work within a week. Thomas showed up on time, was respectful of the property, and was pleasant to work with. He kept me updated on his progress throughout the work. When he identified potential issues, he provided suggestions for how we could address these. Your asphalt driveway won’t actually cure for around six months to one year. During this time, it’s more likely to get damaged or weakened by heavy machinery, vehicles, and high temperatures. 

Whether you should resurface or replace your asphalt driveway heavily depends on its condition. If the foundation is solid and the damage is minor, resurfacing is your best bet because it’s more affordable and faster than replacing the driveway. But if your driveway has foundational problems and/or severe damage, like large, deep cracks and potholes, then it makes more sense to replace it. 

The decision to repair or replace your driveway depends on the extent of the damage. If your driveway has a few small cracks, a simple repair will do the trick. If you see larger cracks and potholes, it may be time to consider resurfacing or replacement. Resurfacing is a great option if more than 25% of the surface is damaged, but if the damage is extensive—deep cracks or significant sinking—it’s best to replace the driveway entirely.
