We were unhappy with a number of things including but not limited to their contractor damaging the drywall to the point much wider baseboards had to be installed to cover the damage throughout the entire unit. One of our contractors pulled back the flooring and told us there was a vapor barrier but no sound barrier as required by our HOA, requested by us, and on our invoice, and then most annoying, this sound is throughout the condo and very loud even when walking in socks "quietly". We've been told by other contractors it was likely because the floors were not properly swept and prepped ahead of time. We have photos showing chunks of debris all around the cabinets that should have been swept up. We complained to About Floors n More and did not pay them the remainder. Their response was to file a lawsuit (we've already paid them close to 50%). We will let a judge decide if what is in this video as well as our extensive photos are acceptable or not but we wanted other consumers considering them to know that they believe this is acceptable and instead of working to remedy it, sued us to pay them for work we don't believe was done correctly nor fully. Caveat emptor. Video is on YouTube under the title: About Floors n' More, Jacksonville, Florida: Our LPV install that has us headed to court. Attached photos include: toilet left in shower as we were ready to move in. One of dozens of documented images of drywall damage from failing to score the drywall. You can lay tile directly on a plywood countertop, but if it’s a high-traffic surface in a kitchen, it’s better to add a moisture-resistant base. Plywood is susceptible to moisture, so if dampness seeps through from the surface around the sink or where you prep food, it can cause the plywood to warp, leading to grout damage, cracked tiles, or mold growth under the surface. 

When working on your bathroom floor tiling, you should always tile the floor first and then refit the toilet afterward. This has both practical and visual advantages—the tile will have a better seal, and the installation will look cleaner.

On the other hand, when you try to cut the tiles to fit around the toilet, you’re putting yourself at a disadvantage. It’s a lot more work, it’s hard to be precise, and mistakes or miscalculations can lead to future moisture damage to the tiling, grout, and subfloor.

The process takes two to four days, depending on the size of the area and your experience level. The first day involves assessing and prepping the existing tile, while the second day is for laying the new tile. This may take longer in complex areas. After letting the adhesive dry for 24 hours, grouting and sealing can be completed on day three. For larger projects or intricate tile patterns, expect the timeline to stretch a bit longer. Also, proper drying time between steps is essential for long-lasting results, which extends the project’s time.
