"Juan performed a miracle on my kitchen (granite) and master bath (marble) countertops. Both countertops had stains that I wanted removed. He was able to remove the stains and seal the counter tops. They look brand new again."

"J&J Tile did phenomenal work to repair some broken tile in our kitchen, as well as tiling under the countertops in the dishwasher space. Raul worked on our kitchen and he did a wonderful job. John also kept in contact throughout the job to ensure it was being completed to our satisfaction. They do have a minimum cost to do any job, which is the only reason I left 4 stars on the value. Likely, I couldâ ve kept shopping around and found someone who would have done it for cheaper, because it was a relatively small tile job. However, the minimum price was clearly explained to us before we agreed to hire them, so there were no secrets on their end. Just make sure to communicate about cost if you are looking for minor work as we were. That said, the work itself is top notch, so we are fine with what we paid."

Small jobs welcome

"Remedy Surface Care renewed our faith in great customer service, incredible workmanship, and a finished product that we are so happy about! They restored our kitchen marble as well as the marble counters in our bathrooms. We inherited marble that was never taken care off, cleaned, or sealed properly. The house was only five years old when we moved. Both Kim and Joe were fantastic to work with throughout the whole process. We highly recommend them and will continue to use them to maintain our now beautiful marble."

Marble Restoration questions, answered by experts

Yes, stains can often be removed using a poultice paste that draws out the stain. The paste is applied, allowed to dry, and then removed, lifting the stain from the stone.

Rock salt and ice melts contain sodium chloride, aka salt, and are corrosive to metal and concrete. If used frequently over time, it can cause corrosion, discoloration, chipping, and cracking to patios, walkways, and driveways. You can try a rock salt alternative or hire a professional snow removal company instead.

Extensive chips and cracks may require a full replacement of the countertop. The cost to install a new countertop is around $3,100 on average. But, if the damaged area is relatively small, you may want to consider repairing it yourself or calling in a qualified professional. Depending on the material, some epoxy and sandpaper may do the trick. Or you can consider painting laminate countertops or refinishing butcher block countertops.

You can’t change the color of the stone, but you can update granite countertops without replacing them by painting them. Because granite is a porous material, you’ll want to seal them first before painting them so that the paint doesn’t hurt the surface. This is important because you don’t want to devalue your counters by damaging the original surface; even if you don’t like the color now, you or a new homeowner may want to remove the paint someday and return them to their original color. You can also cover them with

In most cases, chipped or cracked granite can be salvaged, but it depends on the size and scope of the damage. For example, a pro can smooth out small chips on the edge with polish pads or an angle grinder, but a crack that runs through the stone's surface has little-to-no chance of being fixed easily.
