"I highly recommend Alpha Foundations. The first guy they sent out to evaluate the problem, Joseph Green, was extremely thorough and professional. He went above and beyond to make me happy. The two men who did the job, which was leveling two patios and filling in a gap between the house and the patios and repairing two substantial cracks, Cooper and Blake, did an amazing job. They were extremely thorough, making sure they addressed all issues and they did the job in a timely manner and cleaned up as if they were never there. You may not need a hammer drill if you’re planning on drilling one or two very small diameter holes in brick. For holes with a diameter of 3/16-inch or less, a regular drill with a masonry bit can do the job. However, the bit will heat up quickly, and the process will take significantly longer than with a hammer drill. Prepare to cool your drill bit down in a bucket of water more often.

  • Mortar: Check to see if the mortar is old and crumbling, in need of repointing, or new. Also check to see if the mortar has a professional finish.

  • Walls: Check along each side of the house. If a wall is bowing outward, this indicates a severe issue such as foundation damage or that the walls are ready to fall.
