"Make sure you keep Matt’s contact information!!!. He is highly professional and easy to work with . I needed to have a door lock replaced and he did that. He also did some sheetrock repairs and it was absolutely perfect! He confirmed his appointment ahead of time and showed up on time. Highly professional and a nice guy. I have referred his contact information to my neighbors. Diane B. / Bradenton FL"

"Called them to reenforce my gates to my fence that were sagging. They were prompt to get to the house to complete the job. Though I was not satisfied with the repair initially, they addressed my concerns and came out a second time and exceeded my expectations. Much happier with operational gates that close properly and don't sag."

"Steven is a one man show. He performed the many tasks we proposed to him with efficiency and too notch quality. He found answers for every repair we gave him. He even repaired a few things without charging us extra money for them. This young man, who has a pleasant personality, is a go getter. He cleaned all the areas where repairs took place, even mopping at times. We found out that Steven also does remodeling etc. We really needed to get these repairs completed quickly and Steven contacted us immediately. We highly recommend Steven to all thise who may need his services. Thank you Steven for jobs well done."

"Great company. They completed the job on time and within budget. I have received nothing but compliments on the walls. I would recommend Nick and his workers to anyone looking to do a kitchen or bathroom. When left the area was cleaner than when they arrived. The kitchen and hallway look fantastic. Would highly recommend Cosmo Contracting . Five Plus stars."

Mailbox Repair questions, answered by experts

Fixing a drawer that is sticky, askew, or broken depends on the specific problem. Start by removing the drawer and examining the slides and tracks for any damage, bent parts, or loose hardware.

For minor issues:

  • Clean and Lubricate: If the slides are just sticky, clean them and the corresponding tracks with a hot, damp cloth. Then, apply a lubricant like silicone spray or bar soap to help them glide smoothly. Also, check any roller wheels for problems.

  • Tighten Screws: Tighten any loose screws on the slides and tracks. If screw holes are stripped, you may need to fill them and re-drill.

For more significant damage:

  • Bent Hardware: If a slide is bent, you may be able to remove it, straighten it out, and reinstall it.

  • Broken Parts: If a slide or track is broken or severely damaged, it will need to be replaced. Unscrew the damaged part and install a replacement that matches the type and size of the original.

After performing the repair, reinsert the drawer and test it to ensure it opens and closes smoothly, making any final adjustments for proper alignment. It can also be helpful to consult the manufacturer's guidelines for your specific drawer system.

Furniture repair costs around $200 on average, and most project costs fall between $100 and $500. The price you can expect to pay will depend on the type of furniture you’re repairing, the extent of the damage, and the size and age of the piece. Reupholstering and couch frame repair are the most expensive, sometimes costing $1,000, while fixes like repairing a scratch or replacing a spring in a couch or armchair will usually cost under $100. Older furniture requires more care and will typically cost more to repair.

When water penetrates wood, the wood swells, causing the wood and veneer to separate. This separation creates bubbles on the surface of your furniture. If water spills on wood veneer, it needs to be dried ASAP. Surface spills can cause minor damages like white spots and blushing, but if you’re slow to action, you’re looking at more work—and spending—to restore your wood veneer.

To prevent sagging, consider both the material and the span of the shelf. Using sturdy materials such as plywood or solid wood can provide better support than particleboard. Additionally, limiting the shelf span to 36 inches or less can reduce the risk of sagging. For longer shelves, incorporating center supports or brackets can offer additional reinforcement.

Wood filler can be used to repair minor scratches, dents, and damages on wood veneer. Simply scrape the wood filler over the chipped or scratched area. Make sure to leave a little bit more than you need so you can sand it down for a smoother finish. Repaint or restrain the surface to ensure a consistent color.
