"I got duped by these people. I got a call from a guy named Rico (?Rigo?) who told me that the monitoring system was reporting an error that, if not fixed in short order, would result in the cancellation of my warranty. I thought that this was a little odd because the app I use to monitor my system showed no problems. Still, I agreed to have a technician come out to take a look. An inspection, repair, and panel cleaning were promised. When the technician came out, he spent at most 10 minutes on the roof. He told my wife that he found no problems. The only panel that needed cleaning had some leaves on it that he swept off with his foot. For that, I was charged $1260. I called to complain, but Rico was unbudging. I'm not sure what happened. When this company installed my solar several years ago, they were competent and professional. Not any more. Avoid these scammers like the plague!"

When installing insulation yourself, you need to determine the optimal R-value you need to keep your home warm in the wintertime, cool in the heat of summer, and energy-efficient all year long. Each inch of insulation provides between a 3 and an 8 R-value. The climate where you live plays a major role in what R-value you need and the price tag you might see in your insulation installation.

If you install LED bulbs, they will use much less energy than incandescent bulbs. LED light strips also use less power. Battery-operated puck lights use no electricity at all, but you will need to replace the batteries as needed. They are beneficial if your power goes out, too, as they will remain on as a light source.
