"Excellent, Mr. Bernardo came to our home to look at a tile repair for our pool contractor. He noticed a problem we were having with mold on our coping. He felt they were of inferior quality and went back to the pool contractor and got him to agree to replace them at no cost to us. His crew came and in one day removed and replaced all the pool coping. A truly excellent job by all and a contractor who really cares about the finished product."

"So I contacted this company and Chris their sales rep came and quoted a price. I scheduled the appointment for the work to be done and took off work to accommodate their schedule. Then I requested a certificate of insurance due to the cost of the barn shower doors and protecting my investment. When speaking with their office assistant I inquired about the time and if the quote would meet the tome frame for the work to be done which was supposed to be 3/4 to a whole day of work. upon concluding the call and getting clarification on my concerns, a few hours later they called cancelled last minute stating that they feel its in MY BEST INTEREST that I seek another company that would be better to provide services. I spoke with the office gal again and said why, she said cause of the price. I said I am the adult and accepted the price and just had needed clarification on some items. I think she spoke with the company owner, who wouldn't speak directly to me and get exactly what this idiot of an assistant misrepresented my concerns as. What a ******** excuse! They felt that they were looking out for my best interests?! What am I child?! Or is this something they tell their clients so they can sleep at night. I wouldn;t recommend these clowns. What a waste of my time!"

Marble and Granite questions, answered by experts

Tiling can be DIY with the right tools and skills, but challenges like ensuring evenness and appropriate adhesion often warrant professional handling.

As long as your travertine tiles are properly installed and maintained, they can last as long as 75 to 100 years. The best way to keep them in good shape is to learn how to clean floor tile and grout with the proper cleaning products. For travertine, you need to avoid anything acidic like vinegar. Also, take care when moving furniture around, because these tiles can scratch.

If your travertine tiles start to look worse for wear, you can always get them deep cleaned, honed, and polished to give them a new lease on life.

Yes, you can tile over tile. However, the original tiling job must be clean, flat, and free of damage, such as mold or mildew. Removing existing tiles is time-consuming and expensive, so it might make sense to skip this step.

Remember that when you tile over an existing layer, your walls or floor will get that much taller, so it might not work, depending on your door height.

Installing kitchen countertop tiles on a mold and moisture-resistant cement backer board is one of the best options. When fitted correctly on top of a plywood base, it’s stable and long-lasting. Old-fashioned cement board is economical, cuts neatly and easily with a circular or jigsaw, and screws into plywood without any difficulty.

It’s not a good idea to lay tile and grout on the same day. The adhesive or thin-set that sticks the tiles to the surface needs plenty of time to dry before you can grout. Wait for 24 to 48 hours, depending on moisture levels in the space. The tiles can become misaligned and more prone to damage if you don’t wait.
