Cathedral Marble & Granite

About us

The Cathedral experience begins as soon as a client arrives at the business, where rows of expertly sliced granite stand alognside the main building. In the showroom are hundreds of samples of granite from as far away as Italy and India, timeless marble in an array of shades and patterns, and beautiful quartz. While the selection is great, be assured that Cathedral refuses any natural stone that does not meet its stringent standards. Cathedral's design experts work one-on-one with each client, offering guidance on countertop edge options, complementary colors with cabinet finishes and more. 30 Employees

Cathedral is excellent--very professional and very accurate in the measuring, design, and installation of the granite, including very large pieces that had to be carried down stairs. We appreciated the care taken to select just the right sections of the granite slabs to highlight the beauty of the stone in the intended setting. We only wish we had more places for them to install stone.

Felt like swindle. Very pushy sales people, not helpful at all regarding the installing process. Discount store type service for a premium price. They all get their stone from the same suppliers, so go elsewhere if you want good service and a company that stands behind they're work with pride.
Response from Cathedral Marble & Granite
"Please enter what you would like the response to look like:We are sorry that Mr. [mnr] is not happy with our service. According to Mrs. [mnr] through email, "We are very happy with the actual counter tops, the only problem we had was with the faucet installation. The depth of the sink caused a huge problem with our current plumbing situation, which caused additional expenses and over a weeks worth of extra work to fix." As was stated to the Customer in person, in email correspondence, and is also written on the estimate Mr. Murakami signed, Cathedral Marble & Granite does not remove prior to nor hook up plumbing after counter top installation. We are not plumbing nor general contractors; however, we do install sinks to our counter tops, and we drill holes into the counter tops we installed as needed to accommodate faucets, ROs, soap dispensers, etc. Our salespeople are not on commission, so there is no reason for them to be "pushy", and they and our production staff go out of their way to make sure that each Customer is completely satisfied with their counter top installation. To take out frustration on Cathedral because of the extra time and expense the Customer had to undergo in order to coordinate his project's plumbing which has nothing to do with our services, and to give Cathedral an 'F' for this vexation is unreasonable. Again, to quote Mrs. [mnr]: "We are extremely happy with the counter tops and with your help. We only want to give a suggestion that maybe future customers be warned that there may be plumbing issues with installing a new sink or faucet." Saying this and what the review says above are two completely different statements. Thank you."

We had multiple issues. First, sink cut out not centered - had to be replaced. Second, first sink cracked. Third, terrible installation of second bathroom sink - a scrap piece of wood and half a tube of silicon...

It went really well. We wanted the grain of the quartzite to run the same general way across 4 pieces in the kitchen. Chris lined it out and confirmed with us prior to any cuts. The installation went smoothly despite a small issue with one of the cabinets - which they shimmed up to solve the issue and a defective sink that was discovered after install. When we received the replacement sink, Cathedral came back quickly and reinstalled to new sink with no issues.

These workers, there were two of them, came on time, efficiently drilled the hole as required, cleaned up their mess with a vacuum they brought with them, and even gave us a bottle of their granite cleaning solution.  They were in and out in record time and we were very pleased.

They were wonderful to work with. They just paid total attention to our job. We are very happy with the outcome. They are one of two places in the Lafayette area that has as machine that they brought to our house to complete all the measurements and survey the project. It was electronic and got all the measurements done from the center of the room. Every seam and cut is exact and beautiful. They also have a machine that they take an image of the granite slab/grain that we purchased. This program allowed them to exactly match up any splice that they had to make. They do just gorgeous work at a reasonable price. We thought they offered a really good value for our money.

From second one I walked in till the end everything was ideal. Megan was lovely to work with. She helped with the selection and expediting the process by staying on top of things. Michael the supervisor and truly everyone I came in contact with was super helpful and professional. I could not have been happier with this company. They will stand by their product and service and I sooooo appreciate that.

We learned about Cathedral through our Direct Buy involvement. We have been members since 1989 and have saved a lot of money over the years. Our home improvement project was one we didn't shy away from knowing that we would save money while working with quality organizations like Cathedral. From start to finish they were great to work with. We are very pleased with our countertops and look forward to our kitchen upgrade in the Spring where we plan to purchase our countertops through Cathedral again.

Cathedral Marble was the fabricator for the granite counter tops and backsplash in our kitchen remodel.
From the very start through the completed install of the counter tops their customer service was excellent.
They helped guide us as we chose the material and decided on finishes and edge profiles. They also gave us great tips on how to care for the granite and even how to enhance the stone.
Their installers paid close attention to detail which took our project from good to excellent.
Every person we worked with on their staff from the person that answered the phones to the installers were very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. It is obvious that this company takes pride in its product.
I will recommend this company, and use this company again.

The other parts of the kitchen were done by somebody else. When they came in they were very professional and measured it. They cut it right in for the drop in stove top and they did a very nice job. I have priced them and this summer I was planning to do a bathroom but I haven't got that far.

They did a good job with this project. They were very prompt and informative. They showed up on time and were able to correspond the time with another company doing some work. They were priced pretty well.

Cathedral Marble was very helpful in giving countertop options that were more cost effective and required no care as compared to my original material choice. I was not aware of the maintenance the original choice would require until they gave me that information. Chris Baker gave me other material options that looked VERY similar to my original high maintenance choicel. Her suggestions were also less money! They were very professional and I dealt mostly with them via email. I visited the store once to look at the alternate options. The appointments for the field measure and the countertop installation were both on time. Great company to work with!

From the time I walked in it was a snap. I had my mind set on honed granite and was shown a piece and what to expect from it. It shows finger prints that could possibly stain from body oil and I knew it would make me crazy. I decided on a beautiful black granite. I picked an amazing piece of marble for the dining room. Looking at all the choices I was told the pros and cons of the available materials. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for granite or marble; great choices, good information, outstanding sales help. It is a trip and tricky to find but worth it.

We didn't work with them directly, they went through our contractor. I would say the finished product was excellent.

Went to Cathedral Marble and Granite and looked at their remnants. You have to take what is leftover unless you want to pay a premium for uncut granite. They were fantastic! My wife made a mistake on a faucet and after they had already come out and installed it. They removed it, and replaced it again at their expense. Once again, it was my wifes fault. Quality company with quality people.

From our first contact with this company until the installation was finished last week, the customer service was top notch. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Very responsive!

I narrowed my options down to four providers rated high on Angie's List and after some preliminary e-mail and phone conversations, I selected this company. I am glad I did. They made some suggestions that improved the design of my kitchen and saved some money in the process. Everyone I had contact with sounded excited to have my business even though it was a relatively small project. I can't say enough good things about them. I am already looking around my house to see what else I can remodel to be able to use them again! :) I have recommended them to several friends already.

They did an excellent job on the install. Men were very courteous. We had a shop vac sitting downstairs we had been using. They needed to notch out for steel supports so asked if they could use it. One held it while the other one used the saw. This cut down on dust and mess. There was a place I wasn't happy with how it turned out--not their fault-- I just didn't think about it until it was in. I asked if we could use some of the leftover piece and put on top of the backsplash with the edge on it to extend the granite to the end. I had no problem with them over this. They sent someone over to look at it and measure. Installed it the next week. It looks perfect. They also have many edges you can choose from that cost extra money from other fabricators.
