"I called Cris at noon time on the day of service.  Cris advised me that he was on a labor intensive job that would take most of the day.  He told me that he could make it by 6:00 PM.  I agreed to that time as I had just closed on a new home and needed all of the locks re keyed.  Cris arrived on time and immediately started the removal and dis assembly of the lock mechanisms. Cris inspected all of the lock mechanisms and had to replace some broken parts on one of the locks.  Cris reassembled and installed all of the locks insuring all were functioning correctly and were lubricated correctly.  The new keys were manufactured correctly and worked with no malfunctions.  Cris worked non stop for 1.5 hours to get the job done.  It should be noted that Cris' workday started at 5:30 AM.  Although Cris had already put in a 12 hour plus day before he arrived at my home he showed no signs of fatigue and was very professional and cordial.  I highly recommend that you consider Cris for any locksmith related needs as he will not let you down.

"I needed locks changed on a rental property quickly. When I reached Kees he gave me a timeline and kept it.
Honest, dependable and performed quality work which is something of a commodity in these days and times. I would highly recommend because honesty and security are two things you really need when it comes to a locksmith. With so many scams going on these days...Kees will give you peace of mind.

Locksmiths questions, answered by experts

If your door handle turns without opening, the most likely culprit is a loose or stripped spindle. This part connects the handles to the latch mechanism, and when it’s not properly engaged, turning the handle does nothing. Other issues might include a broken latch, loose screws, or even something small blocking an inner mechanism. In any case, it’s usually a matter of tightening, adjusting, or replacing a worn-out part inside the handle assembly—or calling in a professional to do it for you.

Newer, electric-powered door locks generally have a life span of five years or less. That’s thanks, in large part, to a phenomenon called planned obsolescence, in which products are programmed to need replacing after a certain amount of time. That’s also why older, manual, push-key locksets can last up to 30 years with regular cleanings and maintenance. When it does come time for a new set-up, know that the cost to change locks ranges from $130 to $500 on average.

A keypad deadbolt, a lock requiring a code entered on a keypad entry, can be a convenient option for families with children coming in and out and needing access to the home. It can also offer an easy solution if you rent your home out, since you can easily change the code as needed. So, depending on your home entry’s needs, a keypad deadbolt may be worth the extra expense.

Door locks should be changed roughly every seven years. The average lifespan of a door lock is seven to 10 years, so it’s best to err on the side of caution and change them early, especially if they are showing signs of wear and tear. Examples of deterioration include visible rust and difficulty opening or closing the door. Some locks can work safely beyond 10 years, but it depends on how often they are used and whether they are exposed to damaging environmental conditions like precipitation or extreme temperatures.

Yes, most pros encourage you to change your locks when you move into a new home. While the previous owner may hand you their keys, you have no way of knowing whether other copies exist elsewhere. Changing your locks as soon as you move in is a great way to ensure that you can enjoy new, fully functioning locks that will work with your unique key or code.
