"Phil contacted me within 12 hours of my initial online search for countertop repair. The work was scheduled for the next week and was completed today in less than three hours time. He was on time, efficient, professional, considerate of my belongings and cleaned up whatever mess he made. I would recommend him in a heartbeat for any countertop work that you might need."

"Tom, the owner was awesome! Bent over backwards to get my kitchen countertops done in a very short amount of time. His workers were great, good workers, great job, done in one day and could not have asked for better people to work with. Would recommend them again and again to anyone who is considering having their countertops done. Work was A+ and price was outstanding! Couldn't be happier!"

"Dan is amazing. My husband is a retired contractor from Connecticut. I told every contractor who performed work for us during our entire home renovation project that they need to send their best guys because my husband will notice any imperfections. He was amazed by Dan's work and said he is a very talented craftsman. We highly recommend Dan."

"If every company was run like CounterKraft, Angie's list wouldn't be needed.  John and the other people at CounterKraft were responsive, professional and did a beautiful job.  Our countertops look amazing.  I couldn't be more pleased with the results.  The people at CounterKraft made us feel fully informed during the entire process and answered all our questions immediately and fully.  I would happily hire them again and recommend them to anyone who asked."

"Lack of communication on the part of this company. I had countertops installed in kitchen. The sink cutout was done wrong due to an error by one of the companies employees. I guess must live with this. This could have easily been a 5 star rating had they communicated with me and at least made some kind of effort to resolve the sink cutout."

Countertops and Backsplashes questions, answered by experts

Marble countertops don’t necessarily crack easily. However, they are more susceptible to damage than some other types of countertops. For example, they can develop etching from acidic liquids, such as lemon or tomato juice. Marble can also chip at the edges if you drop a heavy pan. A faux marble countertop isn’t as delicate as the real deal (depending on the material you’re painting over), but it can still get scratched if you’re not careful. Use hot pads and cutting boards to protect the countertop.

While Caesarstone countertops are heat-resistant, placing hot pots directly on them is not recommended. Extreme heat can cause thermal shock, potentially leading to cracks or discoloration. Always use trivets or heat pads to protect the surface and maintain its appearance and integrity. This precaution helps ensure the longevity of your Caesarstone countertop.

The most expensive countertop materials are marble and granite. These natural materials are very heavy and require specialized tools and knowledge to install. Their natural veins and flecks elevate the design and make a beautiful statement in the kitchen or bathroom. Because they’re natural, no two countertops will be the same.

Yes, you can install a farmhouse sink on an existing countertop—but there are some caveats. You’ll need to precisely measure. It’s best to choose a sink that’s the same dimensions as your existing sink, since your contractor won’t have to cut the countertop. Otherwise, pay close attention to the depth of your counter (the front to back measurement). You don’t want to install something that’s so big it sticks out beyond your countertop and cabinetry.

You can cut food on tough, scratch-resistant granite countertops. However, these hard surfaces can quickly dull your knife blades, and continual cutting in the same spot can eventually lead to marks forming and compromising the protective sealant. As with any countertop material, it’s always best to use a chopping board.
