"Axton Builders LLC did a professional job of repairing a masonry wall in our association. I think the overall job might have been a bit more than he estimated, but he stuck with his original quote. So, a professional job with little hassle. That's the best recommendation I can give any contractor."

Small jobs welcome

"Very professional. Arrived as promised and completed the landscaping as promised for agreed price. I hired him to update the landscaping across the front and around the side of my house which involved pulling some plants, cleaning some plants of unwanted growth, cleaning the plant beds and installing new plants. Finally, putting down new mulch. I could not be more pleased."

"It went well beyond my expectations. We went with pavers rather than concrete. Joe gave us a good estimate. He stuck to the budget and the timeline. The work Joe did for us is a work of art. Beautiful. Pavers cost more than concrete but worth every penny."

"I utilized Pavers in Paradise on many projects. As head of an H.O.A. Alan and his team repaired pathways installed patio’s and Sidewalks. They also reinforced and expanded roadways. Alan on one occasion made an emergency repair on a collapsed driveway! (Not on his project). I’ve used Pavers in Paradise personally several times and recommend him to friends and family. Professional team of craftsmen, top quality results at a fair price. As far as customer service, when you do it right the first time you don’t need to come back."

Masonry questions, answered by experts

No, using a power sander on brick is not recommended because the force of the sander can destroy brick's fragile outer layer. Even using sandpaper on brick is discouraged because of the damage its abrasiveness can cause.

Common causes include weather exposure, moisture, and settling. Regular maintenance prevents significant damage.

Yes, but used or reclaimed bricks can be more brittle, cracked, or uneven than new bricks, so they’re harder to cut cleanly by hand. For that reason, you should take extra care when scoring and striking, and expect a higher chance of breakage. If a brick feels especially fragile, score deeper before attempting to split it.

They offer durability, aesthetic appeal, and resistance to weathering compared to concrete or asphalt.

You may not need a hammer drill if you’re planning on drilling one or two very small diameter holes in brick. For holes with a diameter of 3/16-inch or less, a regular drill with a masonry bit can do the job. However, the bit will heat up quickly, and the process will take significantly longer than with a hammer drill. Prepare to cool your drill bit down in a bucket of water more often.
