"Jacqueline was amazing in the thoroughness of her cleaning. I had planned to redo my kitchen completely, but after her deep-cleaning, I saw again how much I had liked it 27 years ago when the house was new. So I'm merely refreshing the paint with the same color. Also, I had thought to call in a service that renews tile floors, but after her work, the floors are perfect. When my house rehab is complete, I'll use this company for bi-weekly cleaning."

"They did a beautiful job. They also do power washing of home exteriors and fence surfaces and clean ceiling fans. I highly recommend this company and have engaged in a continuing service agreement with them."

"Shine did an excellent job cleaning the outside of my 5 first floor double hung windows. The 2-person team also removed and washed the 5 screens. Per my request, they placed them on a shelf in my garage, for storage. They also cleaned one outdoor ceiling fan. One window required extra attention due to a calcium/lime like residue resisted removal. The team leader gladly used a special solvent to breakdown the deposits. I will hire the folks from Shine in the future."

"I hired this Company to clean an older condo for my My Sister who lives in a different state. It needed a desperate cleaning before moving in. Everything was dirty and grimy. NOT ANY LONGER ! Floors, kitchen cabinets, appliances, sinks, bathrooms, air vents, & fan blades all literally, sparkle. Grime is off the older accordion doors. There is no longer build up grime on the baseboards. Everything on the 99 point check list was done. Maid was very efficient, friendly and ready to get the job done. Highly recommend !"

House Cleaning questions, answered by experts

If your house cleaner is doing a standard cleaning, you can expect this project to take between one and three hours, depending on the size of your home. If you are looking for a deeper clean, your house cleaning service might last between two and five hours. For a move-out clean, anywhere from two to three hours is standard.

While a biohazard cleanup sounds like a scary process, knowing what to expect can help ease your concerns and set you up for success. It’s good to note that more than one professional might be needed depending on your situation, but that will be determined during the assessment. What you can expect during a home biohazard cleanup is the following:

  • Assessment: The first step in this process is for a biohazard cleanup professional to assess the damage. They create a report that includes the biohazard safety level, the needed damage cleanup, and the time it should take to complete the project.

  • Setup: The cleanup professional prepares the site to prevent cross-contamination and reduce toxicity risk. This process can include tarping and creating decontamination zones.

  • Removal of surface contamination: Any contaminated materials are removed from the area, starting with large materials followed by small ones. The professional can assess any floor-related damage once everything is removed from the site.

  • Salvaging items: The biohazard cleanup professionals assess which items can be saved and which are contaminated beyond the point of saving. Those deemed unsafe will be disposed of immediately.

  • Waste disposal: The next step is carefully disposing of the hazardous waste. Your professional will place the contaminated items in specific containers to keep the contamination from spreading.

  • Disinfection: The house will be disinfected and odor-neutralized. Even more minor details, like light switches and bulbs, will be disinfected so that they do not recontaminate the area in the future.

  • Restoration: Once the decontamination is complete, the last step is to restore the home. This includes repairing the damage to flooring, walls, or even the home's foundation.

No, you cannot use bleach on Dekton. Avoid harsh chemicals when cleaning and treating Dekton. Such chemicals are unnecessary since Dekton is highly stain-resistant and nonporous. Instead, use a mild solution of water and soap or vinegar when cleaning your Dekton countertops and dry thoroughly with a clean cloth.

Luckily, you can typically eliminate your microwave’s burnt smell within a few hours for most situations. Be sure to let it air out for two to three hours after cleaning to let the odor evacuate your home—if you close your home up too early, the odor will be trapped. For stronger, more stubborn burnt smells, it might take a full day or more to really notice a difference.

Your floor sees a lot of action: foot traffic bringing in dirt from outside, pets with muddy paws, kids dropping food crumbs, and more. All of this makes your floors dirty, and if you don’t keep up with cleaning them, staying on top of the dirt will become more challenging.
