Customers say: Quality work

"We could not be more pleased with the workmanship, professionalism, and overall customer service provided by Woodworks Cabinetry, Inc. during the remodeling of our kitchen. They are a small, local business with a hands-on approach to everything they do. They do the designing, the removal (they shy away from the term ‘demolition’), the cabinet installation, and more. When a specific trade is required, they act as the general contractor, scheduling the various trades when they need them, providing coordination that is seamless to the homeowner. We looked to several companies for estimates for this project and this contractor service is not as common as you would think. Jack spent every minute with us that we needed until we felt good about the over design alternatives, material choices, and schedule considerations. They started early and finished within the specified time parameters agreed upon prior to commencement. Everyone connected with Woodworks was an impressive addition to our overall satisfaction with the remodel. Specifically; Arron, David, and Brandon made sure that the removal of old cabinets was done in such a manner that we were able to re-use them in the garage to enhance its utility. Kirby from Kirby Electrical Services, Steve from Mandarin Plumbing, and Mike working the countertops, all were extremely personable, making sure to provide an introduction and then review what was scheduled to be done so there was no misunderstanding. All were very professional and extremely knowledgeable about their craft. Arron performed all of the cabinet, sink, trim, dishwasher, exhaust fan, and backsplash installations. Not only is he meticulous in his workmanship, but he has a keen design eye when it comes to discussing details that added just the right touch to the new look of the kitchen. He worked long hours to ensure that the job was completed in time for us to meet a social commitment at the house that was scheduled prior to the start of the remodel. When the job was done and he was not coming back the next day, it felt as if we were losing contact with a friend. Just a fine young man. We would recommend Woodworks Cabinetry, Inc. to any of our friends or to anyone who would ask us for a referral. They are a top flight organization and worthy of increased business growth."

"Bemis Restoration did a phenomenal job updating my kitchen. They painted the cabinets, replaced the handles and hinges. They also installed my new kitchen sink and faucet and repaired a leak I didnâ t know I had. In addition they installed my new stove hood and painted my laundry room cabinets and installed handles and hinges to match my kitchen. I was so pleased with Bemis Restorationâ s work, Iâ ve already referred family and friends to them."

"MasterCraft removed a 1.5 inch thick tile/durarock/plywood countertop, installed butcher block countertop with backsplash in one L and another section to a raised height and installed new sink and dishwasher. The countertop needed a new end cap beside the dishwasher. The work is very good quality and neatly (invisibly) caulked at sink and backsplash. The backsplash was cut to height to better fit the existing wall tile. All waste was hauled away and the kitchen left clean of sawdust. They worked me into their schedule in order to have work completed before the date I needed it to be finished."

Kitchen Cabinet Refacing questions, answered by experts

You should not clean cabinets with vinegar. While many homeowners think it is a natural cleaner, vinegar is a mild acid, not a degreaser. Since it does not cut through greasy grime, it won't effectively remove it from kitchen cabinets. For best results, use a degreasing cleaner designed for prep work, then rinse and dry thoroughly before sanding.

Kitchen remodeling can be as minor as a new coat of paint or as significant as a kitchen expansion to add more space. Some common things to include in a kitchen remodel include:

  • New appliances

  • Fresh flooring

  • New paint on walls or cabinets

  • Luxury countertops

  • New or custom cabinets

  • Lighting fixtures

  • New cabinet hardware

  • Changes in electrical or plumbing locations

  • New sink and faucet

Even the least DIY-savvy homeowner can replace cabinet hardware themselves. All you need is a drill, screwdriver, and a tape measure. However, always take the time to measure and fit carefully. Misalignment or dodgy drill holes can spoil the entire look of your cabinet makeover, and repairs or replacement cabinets can be costly.

If you don't sand your cabinets, the new paint or stain won’t adhere properly, impacting the final finish and leading to peeling, chipping, or a sloppy result that won't stand the test of time. Sanding removes the old finish, smooths imperfections, and gives the new coat something to grip. Without it, you will waste your time, money, and effort.

Any of your garage shelves should be able to hold heavier loads, but it’s best to place heavier items on middle shelves. The only reason for this is to prevent injury—lifting heavy loads from down low requires squatting or bending over, which can lead to back injury, and lifting heavy loads off of high shelves in the garage can be especially dangerous if you drop them.
