"I called several awning companies and only one company showed up at my house to provide an estimate. From the initial estimate with Marc Gutman to the final installation the team at Valrose was courteous and responsive. I dealt with Geovanina Martinez and Fabiana Nudelman via email and they were prompt in their replies and answered all of the our questions. The installers did a great job and we are very happy with the product and service."

"Dennis was professional, personable, knowledgeable, and responsive to our need to replace our awning. From the get-go, he knew what we needed and was able to get our awning replaced earlier than expected, and he kept in touch with me throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Dennis Martinez !"

"We changed all our old Windows and doors for hurricane Windows. Total of 19 units. Overall the sales team (Jerry) and custom et service were nice and efficient. The team who installed the windows was really nice to have around. They did a very good job, especially considering the condition of our old house and the various strange window openings we had there. The result is really nice and our house is really different and a hundred times better. The pice was more or less the same of the competitors ; we just felt we were in the hand of more serious, responsive and reliable people and we were right."

"TRUE PROFESSIONALS!!! The service from WixTyle LLC was absolutely EXCEPTIONAL!!! From day one, they communicated with me and also assisted me with acquiring the right awnings. Thier customer-friendly approach is noteworthy and greatly appreciated. They arrived at the project location on-time and got right to work. Throughout the day, they kept me informed on their progress. It was an extremely hot and rainy day, but the weather didn't phase them. In fact, they worked in the rain to get the project done. My dad was so pleased with the results, and we certainly appreciate them taking care of us. I highly recommend WixTyle LLC to anyone who is looking for a professional awning installation company and a team who is focused on total customer satisfaction. They provide 5-Star + service!!!"

Awnings questions, answered by experts

It depends on how you’ll use it. Both awnings and pergolas create shelter in outdoor areas, but pergolas have grid-style roofs, which are more open than awnings and not as effective at blocking out UV rays and precipitation. Also, pergolas are permanent structures, so you can’t put them away when you aren’t using them (unlike retractable awnings).

Costs depend on material type, design complexity, and additional features like lighting or gutters.

You can indeed open your awning in winter. It’s a misconception that you can only open retractable awnings in the warmer months. In fact, modern awnings are strong enough to offer a little respite from the snow if you’re someone who enjoys sipping hot cocoa outside on a beautiful winter day. But if a big storm is coming, such as a hurricane or a blizzard, it’s best to close your awning until the weather calms down.

It’s not a good idea to allow heavy rain to fall on your awning, as puddling can occur and overload the awning. Your awning should be able to handle a light rain, though you should allow it to dry out before retracting it or open it to dry as soon as the rain stops. As always, consult manufacturer guidelines for using and caring for your awning.

Minor fabric patching is DIY-friendly, but frame and mechanical repairs should be professionally handled.
