Shades By Design

He's done my whole house, just in pieces. I've had him over a few times as he's done it little by little. Definitely A. I've even recommended him to my sister, and she used him. She was very happy with him. I'm very happy with it overall. Two adult males came to complete the service. It took anywhere between 1/2 to 2 hours to complete the tasks. It was timely and very professional. Easy to get ahold of them because of text messages. It was easier for me to get ahold of him and communicate. The quality and everything was just good. I'm very happy. I would definitely recommend them. They left my house pretty clean. Not bad.

My first contact was with Gladys, who provided me with quotes and sent helpful updates about how the project was going. She was able to work with my schedule and it was great to have someone so easily reachable by phone and email. When I requested that the project be completed within one week (ordering, cutting, and customizing) they were able to do so which was wonderful. Itai was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and friendly when he came to measure the sliding door and help me pick out the right shade. He returned the next week to install the shade which resulted in a beautiful finished project. I would recommend this company to anyone, no matter how large or small the project!

10/19/2015We told them forget it and used Lowe's customer service to purchase and have them install them. The shades by Design KNEW up front where we lived do to our zip code. f we were too far away (only 55 minutes) on Interstate # 95 North, they should have not quoted us. They also never called us but did all communications via e-mail.

Very well. One of the shades was a little too big, but Gil sent it right back to the factory to be cut and it fit perfectly.

In order to keep this review as accurate and organized as possible I decided to break it down into different parts. Intro: Our corporate office just moved into a newly renovated two-story building in Miami this year. We had about 20 offices and meeting areas that were being directly affected by the sun. When shopping for blinds/shades, our main concerns were the glare and the heat. The glare coming in through the windows would make working on the computers a punishing exercise. And the heat from the sun would make those offices and areas uncomfortably warm. Quote & Consultation: Shopping around for shades is definitely not a fun experience. My biggest complaint is the lack of attention to detail from the industry. I had one company come in and measure one window and said they didn?t need to measure any of the other ones because they ?looked roughly the same.? Another company came in and took measurements, but they never sent me a proposal. To top it all off, the quotes we received were pricey by most standards. I can honestly say that when I met with Gil from Shades by Design, I knew right away that he was a professional. Out of everyone spoke to, Gil was the most knowledgeable when it came to our needs and the type of shades we needed. He was very decisive and objective when answering our questions, but at the same time he was extremely flexible with the options we wanted. When it came to discussing the cost of the project, Gil?s pricing was by far the most reasonable. Communication: When working on any type of project, communication is the key to success. For that reason, I like to probe the companies I intend to work with on how fast they respond to questions and/or complaints. Gil and his team at Shades by Design maintained a high level of communication throughout the whole project. No question went unanswered and no response was delayed over a couple of hours. I am truly appreciative of how quickly Shades by Design would communicate with us. Execution: Once the material was procured and customized, Gil went ahead and scheduled the installation date with us. He said he was going to get everything done in a day. Honestly, I thought he was bluffing because it?s a lot of space to cover. But much to my surprise, Gil and his team worked extra hard and finished the installation in one day. The kicker ? he was one man short because of an emergency. Wow! It?s very refreshing to see someone do what they say they?re going to do, regardless of the circumstances. Summary: If you are in need of shades, I cannot recommend Shades by Design enough. The professionalism exhibited by them is one that all companies should follow. The fact that I took the time and effort to write this long-winded review is testament to the excellent job they did.

This all started when my husband and I deciding that we would like to have some automated shades installed in our living room and master bedroom. We have direct view of the ocean and the morning light can be intense. We called several companies to come out, take a look at what we wanted and give us quotes. One of the companies that came to our condo was ?Shades by Design Inc? located in Miami. After exchanging some initial email with basic specifications, Gil came out on a Sunday to meet with us. As soon as Gil came in the house, we immediately felt more comfortable with him than with the other people we had spoken to. He was on time, professional and helpful making several suggestions that we would not have thought of. Within 45 minutes, everyone knew exactly what needed to happen, we shook hands and waited for their quote. Several days later (the time frame that we agreed) we received the quote from Gil. Just so we are clear, they are not cheap, but I am very particular about quality and was convinced that they were the only ones who had the capability to do exactly what we wanted. We agreed on a price and paid the standard half up front. Gil and one other employee installed the shades. They were on time and we were left with zero clean up after they finished. The end result looks amazing. What can I say? I am blown away. We love our shades and the experience could not have been better. In this day and age of people who over-promise and under-deliver, finding an organization of this quality is rare. Thank you Gil. It was a pleasure working with you.

Gil, and Shades by Design, were life savers. We bought a home and the previous owner tore out all the blinds. With a baby on the way and the summer heat cooking through the windows we needed nice blinds fast and easy. Gil was terrific, he came out with all his samples and was super knowledgeable about materials, hardware, what would look best in each room, and where to use premium materials versus where we could get away with lower cost options. Two weeks later he was back with the shades and one installer and they did the whole house (20 openings) in a day. We had a couple areas where the plaster had cracked from mounting the blinds, Gil took care of those repairs immediately at no extra charge. Additionally, out house is very old and many of the openings are not regular shapes, which would have been a big headache except Gil measured extremely carefully and got everything working and looking just right first time. Subsequently, we've added blinds to a few more areas and Gil was just as quick, knowledgeable and professional on the small jobs as on the big one. We are thrilled with the blinds, they are beautiful, and highly recommend Shades by Design.
