"John and his coworkers were great, professional and responsive to our questions. John came few times over before we started any work to make sure all our needs are met and questions answered. We were a little "on a fence" about how to have it installed. They did do the work fast and very clean. Were respectful of our property and our time. We had still one tree that had to be removed and it was in the way. They politely waited few days and came back to finish the fence on time. Highly recommend."

"Overall Dan was very professional, responsive and punctual. It is amazing when you have a vendor show up at the time promised! He was always at least 10 minutes before the promised time. Dan and Tony were able to complete the long lists of items within a few days. I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication. The guys even came to my place on a Sunday to put in a half day to meet my deadlines. Be sure to be clear when giving direction - we had a couple mistakes that had to be fixed along the way due to paint selection in the wrong areas within the property. Dan and Tony fixed the issues once addressed with no complaints. Dan went above and beyond to help me with issues that arose during the project (i.e. exchanging a damaged bathroom vanity and minor retro fitting to old plumbing). Thank you again Dan for everything! I will definitely recommend you to my friends and family in the South Florida area.

"Working with Power Fence and Pedro was a great experience from start to finish. We needed a new fence for our corner lot to give the yard more privacy while still keeping an open and clean look. Pedro was very knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and helped us choose the right style for the property without ever making us feel pressured. The installation crew showed up on time, worked efficiently, and paid attention to the small details throughout the project. One area of our yard had uneven ground, but they adjusted everything carefully so the fence flowed evenly and looked professionally done from every angle. The finished fence completely upgraded the appearance of our home, and several neighbors have already complimented it. We?re very happy we chose Power Fence for the project."

Gate Repair questions, answered by experts

When choosing a driveway gate, consider the fence material, whether you want an automatic gate or a manual one, and property limitations like the slope of your driveway. We recommend speaking with a professional driveway gate installer to see what types of gates will work on your property based on your fencing or home’s exterior. Keep in mind that driveway gates should range between 10 to 12 feet wide to ensure cars can easily maneuver through the gateway.

Assuming the site is prepped and you have all the tools and materials ready, you should budget the better part of a day to build a driveway gate. This can depend on your DIY experience and which materials you’ve chosen, such as building from scratch or using a prefabricated option. The gate size and finishing touches, like painting or staining, can also add to the overall time budget.

The cost to install a gate varies widely, with a typical range between $1,500 and $7,000. The average cost is around $3,500. However, the final price can be as low as $200 for a simple gate or as high as $12,000 for a large, automated security gate.

Key factors that determine the installation cost include:

  • Gate Material: This is a primary cost factor. Chain-link and vinyl are the most affordable, while wood and PVC are mid-range options. Wrought iron, aluminum, and other metals are the most expensive materials.

  • Automation: Automated gates are significantly more expensive than manual ones because they require motors, sensors, controls, and electrical installation.

  • Size and Type: The dimensions and style of the gate (e.g., swinging vs. sliding) will impact the price.

  • Security Level: Gates with advanced security features will increase the overall cost.

Installation typically takes 1-3 days, depending on the gate type and site conditions.

Gates are often stuck halfway due to physical blockages or damage to the rollers, wheels, or tracks the gate runs on. Check to make sure there are no obstructions before considering that the motor might be burned out or malfunctioning somehow. Hopefully, the issue is simple, and you can remove it with a broom or your hands, but if your gate is stuck and there's no obvious reason why, you should call a pro to diagnose the issue.
