"I had a ceiling fan installed. I forgot the electricians name but he did a wonderful job; he made suggestions regarding the placement of the fixture and was very knowledgeable and confident. He definitely knew what he was doing. Will definitely hire this company again."

Small jobs welcome

"I contacted Family Home Services on a Sunday and Stefanie called me within the hour of submitting the request. She had a fully licensed electrician at my home on Monday morning. I had them install a outlet / LED Lights with switch and a new fan. All the work was completed properly and my room was left completely clean. Would hire again."

"We bought a house and before we moved-in we hire them to clean the interior. Since the house was empty it was easy, mostly floors, windows, bathrooms and kitchen. No major issues, but we noticed that the blinds were not cleaned. Anyways for the price we paid, it was good."

"I purchased my house and less than 4 months in the AC unit went on it. I called Fuss Free on a suggestion from a friend and they showed up and knocked out the install in a fast time, which is key in South Florida. Very professional, and clean which is a larger plus for me. Definitely a professional service."

"Jorge did an excellent job replacing and taping the drywall that was damaged. And the painting made it all look perfect. He also installed a new vent fan, which went fine too. Would definitely hire him again for other projects."

Bathroom Fan Installation questions, answered by experts

The square footage of your room will dictate the correct ceiling fan blade size. For example:

  • Rooms smaller than 75 square feet require a fan that is 29 to 36 inches.

  • Rooms up to 175 square feet require 42- to 48-inch fans.

  • Rooms up to 350 square feet require 52- to 56-inch fans.

  • Expansive spaces over 350 square feet need a fan larger than 60 inches.

Ceiling fans offer multiple benefits for your home. They improve air circulation to prevent stagnant environments and provide cost-effective temperature control, which can reduce reliance on your HVAC system and help lower utility bills. In addition to their functional advantages, ceiling fans can also enhance a room's aesthetic appeal with features like built-in lighting and modern styling.

Once you remove all standing water and puddling, you should run fans for 24 to 48 hours to remove the remaining moisture. For severe water damage, it’s a good idea to run them for three to four days to be safe. Make sure you buy or rent the proper size and number of fans for your water-damaged area.

While ceiling fans are built for regular use, running them continuously without breaks can lead to overheating and wear over time. If your fan has a thermal shutoff feature, it may stop running to protect the motor. To extend their lifespan, it’s best to turn fans off when they’re not needed.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.
