Small jobs welcome

"Danny is a true professional, he was very clean and honest about the entire process. As you know construction work can get messy but he cleaned up so good you couldn t even tell there was a mess earlier ! He wore boot covers and laid down cloth to walk on to save our carpet from any damage or stains. I highly recommended him and his service to anyone who values people who take pride in their work! I would call him again in a heartbeat. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️"

"Excellent. Eric was professional, timely, and I could reach him anytime via text. Since we needed multiple wood rot repairs prior to staining the house, he put me in touch with another Angie's list contractor that quickly made repairs so we could proceed to having the house stained. They worked together as a team and the job was finished quickly and professionally. We are thrilled with the results. His partner Ben matched the color of the stain perfectly which was a huge relief. I would use them again if I have any painting needs in the future."

"Our little project was completed in record time. The First Class crew did an outstanding job and we could not be more pleased with the result. Jordan, the owner, also provided good advice on color. The original color we chose was too dark so we chose a lighter shade and it looks great!"

"New Leaf Painting did a fantastic job painting the exterior of our house. The foreman Jake was determined to deliver a high quality job. When the stucco bottom of our home was not taking the paint correctly, he gave it 3 coats to make it right. We have a 2 story that required a lot of work, 2 colors + trim. They paid great attention to detail and kept me updated on everything as they went. I would highly recommend them for quality work."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Wood stain is typically dry to the touch within 6 to 12 hours, but it is not fully cured at this point. You should wait at least 24 hours before applying a second coat or a protective finish. For surfaces like decks, avoid walking on them for at least 24 to 48 hours, and wait even longer before placing furniture. The full curing process can take from 24 hours to one week, depending on the type of stain. Factors like high humidity and cold temperatures can extend drying and curing times, so it's wise to allow for extra time in these conditions.

Yes, you can and should paint or stain pressure-treated wood to help prevent the boards from cracking. However, you must wait for the wood to dry out completely before applying any finish. Freshly treated wood can take weeks or even months to dry; a common recommendation is to wait three to six months. To check if the wood is ready, perform a simple water test: drip some water onto the surface. If the water beads up, the wood is still too wet and needs more time to dry. If the wood absorbs the water, it is dry enough to be painted or stained. You can proceed with building your deck or fence while the wood is still wet, but you will need to wait to apply the paint or stain.

There are deck restoration products and oil-based wood stains that can help bring back some of the color and shine to your faded Trex decking. However, if your boards are suffering from serious fading due to UV rays or chemical cleaning products, don’t expect miracles. Also, these products are only suitable for use on the older Trex boards, not the capped, second-generation Trex products.

Whether to brush or roll stain on wood depends on the project and your preference. Brushing is ideal for smaller, intricate areas and offers more control over the application, ensuring thorough coverage and penetration into the wood's grain.

Conversely, rolling is efficient for more extensive, flat surfaces and can save time. However, it is not always the best fit for textured or uneven wood. Some projects may benefit from combining both methods, using a brush for detail work and a roller for broader areas. Ultimately, the choice between brushing and rolling depends on the specific requirements of your staining project.

You’ll want to avoid excessively hot or humid conditions, so it’s best to apply your stain in late spring to early fall. It's also important to watch the weather forecast and aim for days when there isn’t rain expected for at least three days. For new decks, allow the wood to season beforehand for at least four to eight weeks.
