Customers say: Quality work

"I could not be more pleased with the interior painting of my home. Mike and Eddie did a great job, and they were very careful of all my furniture and belongings. They exceeded my expectations in every way, and my home was cleaner when they left than it was when they arrived! I highly recommend them -- they are incredible!!!"

"I had wood rot in a hall closet from the ceiling to the subfloor. Brad and his guys replaced the rotted wood and sheet rock in one day. Then came back after the first coat of mud had tried to make it pretty. Very reasonable price and quality work."

"Very very pleased. Had to have the exterior of fiberglass front door stripped and gel stained and they were very meticulous. Took extra time to complete on account of it being too humid and they didn’t want it to ruin the stain. Would definitely hire again."

"Our little project was completed in record time. The First Class crew did an outstanding job and we could not be more pleased with the result. Jordan, the owner, also provided good advice on color. The original color we chose was too dark so we chose a lighter shade and it looks great!"

"We recently had our home repainted by 360 Painting of Southeast Jacksonville and we are very happy with both the process and the beautiful result. In just two days the drab exterior appearance of our home was transformed to a new clean look. The entire process from initial contact and estimate through final cleanup was very professional and professionally managed. We received the personal hands-on attention of the owner and the work of a very experienced painter team using quality paint. The estimate was clear and complete. The process of pressure washing, masking, caulking, and paint application was well thought out and sequenced. Personnel paid attention to details such as closing gates, protecting landscape, etc. Clean up was quick, and thorough and personally supervised by the owner. Our experience with 360 Painting of Southeast Jacksonville was excellent."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, many repair services include repainting to match the color of the existing siding or walls. Most professionals offer this service to ensure the repaired area blends in seamlessly.

The general consensus is that two coats of stain are required and since the cedar is siding, a third coat of sealant is always a good idea. This helps protect the wood and stain, so you won’t need to resand and restain for at least a decade. Each stain after the first will darken the wood, so be aware of that when choosing a colored stain.

Hot, intense sunshine can cause your stain to dry too quickly, which could lead it to look uneven or patchy. If you’re staining the deck during hotter months, it’s best to do it in the morning or evening once the wood has had time to cool down. If you’re staining in cooler weather with less sunshine, the time of day won’t make as much of a difference.

If your biggest concern is making sure your deck doesn’t show dirt, opt for a darker neutral color that blends in well with your surrounding landscape. A rich brown or dark grey are both good options that work with a variety of house colors. A high-quality acrylic paint is easy to clean and maintain, so it might be worth spending the money on.

Staining a deck with a rag is typically a better option than using a brush, as it helps the stain penetrate deeper into the wood. However, both brushes and rags are best reserved for detailed work because using these tools on an entire deck can require tediously crawling around on your hands and knees. A pad applicator, sprayer, or roller are preferred alternatives to applying stain over the majority of a deck. Use a rag for railings and other detailed work, and let the wood soak up as much of the stain as possible before wiping away drips or pools.
