Small jobs welcome

"I have had Danny and his crew do numerous jobs for me including fence replacement, siding replacement, painting and deck replacement over the last 3 years. He is personable, respectful, and does a thorough and professional job. He also is very fairly priced. Do not hesitate to give him a shot."

"I had wood rot in a hall closet from the ceiling to the subfloor. Brad and his guys replaced the rotted wood and sheet rock in one day. Then came back after the first coat of mud had tried to make it pretty. Very reasonable price and quality work."

"Our little project was completed in record time. The First Class crew did an outstanding job and we could not be more pleased with the result. Jordan, the owner, also provided good advice on color. The original color we chose was too dark so we chose a lighter shade and it looks great!"

"New Leaf Painting did a fantastic job painting the exterior of our house. The foreman Jake was determined to deliver a high quality job. When the stucco bottom of our home was not taking the paint correctly, he gave it 3 coats to make it right. We have a 2 story that required a lot of work, 2 colors + trim. They paid great attention to detail and kept me updated on everything as they went. I would highly recommend them for quality work."

"We had an urgent need as another painter backed out of the scheduled time. Felipe from All in One came to our rescue completing our paint job of two rooms in only a matter of hours. His team was punctual and helpful throughout the process. The job looks great and we will be reaching out to him again for our next jobs. I can't recommend him and his team enough."

"They asked a fair price, were timely and professional. I take part of the blame for hiring a carpenter to work on the chimney instead of a roofing company. Everything was going well, they cleaned up as they went and had the new wood installed. I was concerned because of the wood was too close to the roof and would have made contact with the water during heavy downpours. I asked them to correct it which they did and the job looked well done. I contracted to have the wood replaced because it was dry rotting but it had never leaked.

I developed a roof leak below the chimney later that year. I tried cementing any suspect shingles and caulking around the chimney to no avail. So I contracted to have the roof replaced to fix the leak. I had them inspect the chimney area closely and they told me the flashing at the chimney was damaged and that the siding would have to come off to fix it. So I ended up paying to have new siding, Hardee board, installed over the part of the siding that did not need removed to fix the flashing. I did not see the damage myself but the leak has been fixed.

I rated them good overall and would have rated them excellent if the above did not occur. My thought s are that a roofer would have been more careful with the flashing or known enough to have replaced it, hence why I take part or the responsibility in not hiring a roofer and not seeing the damage myself, I did not feel comfortable lowering their rating. I would utilize them again but only on jobs which they normally perform."

Deck Staining questions, answered by experts

Yes, beginners can use a paint sprayer, but there is a learning curve. It's important to go slowly, read the instructions thoroughly, and spend some time learning the technique. Watching tutorial videos for your specific paint sprayer model can be very helpful. Before starting your main project, practice on a scrap surface to get used to the sprayer and avoid common issues like overspraying, which can cause drips, bubbles, and other imperfections. For safety, always wear a mask and gloves, and be careful not to touch the sprayer's tip when it's in use, particularly with high-powered airless sprayers.

While the answer varies based on weather, 10 a.m. is a good time to start painting. The dew will have dried, meaning there’s no moisture on the house, and the temperature will likely be moderate and the sunlight less direct. Starting mid-morning should also give you enough daylight and pleasant weather to work on the job for several hours.

Apply a wood stain or sealant to properly maintain a wood deck railing and keep it looking new. Sealants protect wood from moisture and weathering. Regularly inspect the railing for loose screws, damaged balusters, and other signs of wear to make timely repairs. Routinely clean the railing using mild soap, water, and a soft bristle brush.

Deciding whether to stain or paint a pool deck depends on your budget, desired look, and the deck's material. Both options can work. Paint offers a wider variety of color options, provides excellent water resistance, and can last longer. However, it requires a primer and can eventually fade or peel. Stain is often cheaper, easier to apply, and penetrates the wood for a more natural look and longer-lasting finish. It also has great water resistance. The downsides are fewer color options and the need for a sealant. The choice can also depend on the deck material; for example, staining may be a better option for concrete as it bonds well and lasts longer than paint.

Applying a sealer or topcoat after staining wood is highly recommended, though not always strictly required. A sealer protects the wood from moisture, UV rays, and weather-related issues, which is especially important for outdoor surfaces like decks and fences. It also enhances the stain's durability, prevents fading over time, and gives the wood a cleaner, more professional-looking finish. For some indoor applications, a sealer may not be necessary, depending on the type of stain used and the level of protection needed. It's always best to check the stain manufacturer's recommendations and consider the wood's intended use and exposure when deciding whether to apply a sealer.
