"Not only does the roof look gorgeous it's efficient and quiet! It reduced our electric bill along with being cooler, it much quieter. We went with the insulated metal roofing system, which we would recommend, it takes a bit longer and it's more costly but worth the time and money. Frank and his team are friendly, straight forward, and easy to work with. They were efficient and clean, our neighbors even commented how much they appreciated how well they cleaned up each day to keep our road and driveway clear. We would highly recommend them for any roofing job!"

"I am very excited to give an update about PRC. They are a wonderful company. Though there was an issue in the past, they have more than made up for it. I came to learn that the company was going through a major reorganization last fall, weeding out some bad apples. This can happen in any business. PRC has gone above and beyond to make things right for me. Hiring Rick P. to run the show alongside the top brass has proven to be an excellent move by the company. He is kind, called me regularly, stopped in to personally oversee the repairs, and made sure that superior quality and service was afforded to me and to the project. I cannot rave enough about how great both Rick P. and this company are. In fact, PRC went many extra miles for me in that they paid for things that were not even part of their original agreement. They reroofed my flat roof, bought me an expensive hurricane resistant (fantastic) wood and glass door, gutted the room, added a new ceiling, new walls, new thick insulation, fixed an air conditioning issue I had, hauled away old equipment, installed new, fixed an outside hole, rebricked outside, repainted and added carpeting of my choice to the room. It is gorgeous! In fact, when other installers made an error on the carpet install, Rick got that fixed for me too. Be sure to choose PRC for many of your construction needs. Ask for Rick!"

Egress Windows questions, answered by experts

The average cost to install an egress window is approximately $3,900, with a typical range between $2,500 and $5,300, though costs can be higher. The final price is influenced by several factors, including the window's size, type, material, and glass quality. Other variables include labor costs, location, excavation needs, and whether permits or a structural engineer consultation are required. The price of the window itself often depends on the number of panes:

  • Single-pane: $100–$400

  • Double-pane: $200–$500

  • Triple-pane: $300–$800

Additional features like window wells or covers will also increase the total project cost. It is advisable to obtain multiple quotes from professionals to get a comprehensive understanding of the expenses for your specific project.

They meet local code demands for escape routes, lighten basements, and aid in reducing overall humidity.

Adding windows to a house is expensive. Budget roughly $5,800 to add a single window, and double or triple that to add two or three. In some cases, adding a single window can exceed $20,000, depending on the type of exterior wall, the size of the window, the type of window, local permit costs, and other factors.

If improperly installed, an egress window can compromise your foundation’s structural integrity, so it’s important to work with a pro to ensure your foundation remains in good shape. Any money you may save on a DIY egress window installation may cost you in the long run if your foundation is damaged in the process.

Most modern egress windows installed in basements open outward into a window well, although some older homes have in-swing windows. Egress windows, like casement windows used in other parts of the home, such as bedrooms and bathrooms, may open inward, and these windows are often larger than outward-opening windows.
