"Issues identified on the home inspection needed to be corrected; these items were minor, though unsure of how long it would take I purchased two hours. Since there was an hour left two ceiling fans were replaced. (I had already purchased the ceiling fans, though I am unable to install them myself.) Joel was very personable, professional and efficient. I highly recommend Atlantic Electric!

"Crew,Mike & Riley shows up on time ready to go to work. We go over work with them and they did already know what the job was. Mike worked on moving the light switches while Riley started on removing old kitchen ceiling lights and installing new LED can lights & a new pendant light over sink. All work was completed by lunch time and professional done. Loved working with power usa. The people are always easy to work with and they will explain things to so even I can understand how it works. I have used this company several times since moving to Florida a year and 1/2 ago."

"Very professional and knowledgeable, addressed all concerns. Called to inform me that he was in route to my home. Therefore I did not have to sit and wait. Suggested an alternate method to wire the light and ceiling fan that suited my needs in a better manner. Will definitely call again."

Ceiling Fans questions, answered by experts

In short, no. You can use the square footage range chart in this article to determine the right size ceiling fan for both indoor and outdoor spaces. However, weather elements can damage types of ceiling fans that aren't designed for outdoor use, so your ceiling fan should be weather-resistant if you plan to install it outside.

Essential tools for ceiling fan installation include a ladder, screwdriver, pliers, wire strippers, and a circuit tester. If the ceiling is angled or features unique configurations, ensure the availability of a compatible mounting bracket.

Stainless steel or aluminum fans are long-lasting and have less air resistance. They are best for outdoor use as their durability helps them withstand unpleasant weather conditions. Their heavy weight requires a stronger motor, which leads to more noise than other blade materials.

Wooden fan blades are a classic, durable option. They are much quieter than metal fans and feature a wide range of styles and finishes to choose from. However, they can be damaged by moisture if not covered with plastic.

Plastic fan blades are lightweight, easy to clean, and versatile. There are various shapes and styles to choose from as plastic is easily molded and dyed. They will also deteriorate slower than other materials as they aren’t as susceptible to humidity and moisture.

The direction you want your ceiling fan to move in depends on the season you’re in. During summer, you want it to move counterclockwise to produce a cooling downdraft. During winter, you want it to move clockwise to circulate warm air throughout the room.

Most ceiling fans have a lifespan of anywhere from five to 15 years or 10 years on average. Just how long your ceiling fan lasts depends on the quality of the parts, how much it’s used, and how well you maintain it. A fan with a weak motor that runs on the medium setting nonstop is likely to have a shorter lifespan compared to a fan with a powerful motor that runs on the slowest setting for air circulation.
