"EXCELLENT!!! Miguel is outstanding. He communicated prior to coming so all services would be taken care of. Making sure all equipment was on hand prior to coming or he purchased and I reimbursed once services completed. He attached the antenna on my roof even in the rain. My prior cable company had not wired the house correctly and he was able to fix and rewired that mess to be sure great signal in all my rooms. In addition I had purchased my own Tivo and he set that up for me. He made sure each TV I wanted worked and was set up properly. He is professional, reasonably priced and a pleasure to do business with and would do more in the future if needed. Would definitely recommend him to others!!!!!"

"I had almost all of my existing light switches and plug in lamps, changed out to Lutron Caseta. Now all are integrated into, and can be controlled by my existing Control4 system (so I don't have another app to deal with; though Caseta app is great). My security system is also integrated with Control4, so now if the alarm goes off; almost all of the lights in my house will come on. This required custom programming; which most companies know nothing about, nor are capable of doing; but it was no problem for their technician. I certainly could not have done any of this integration by myself. Tech showed up on time, and price was as quoted. Attention to minor details / pride in work; was spot on (check out the photo of a bank of switches, with all of the screws lined up perfectly). Also purchased Roku box from Innovation Systems, which they installed behind a tv. It is completely hidden from view, but it works perfectly. Highly recommended."

TV Antenna questions, answered by experts

Before investing in a TV antenna repair, there are a few steps you can take to help boost your signal quality. Removing obstacles like tree branches can help improve your signal strength. Along the same line, moving an indoor antenna away from obstacles can also help. These should be near a window, as high as possible. If these steps don’t work, speak with a TV antenna technician about a signal amplifier to help boost your signal even further.

Before your TV antenna stops working, there are a few ways to tell it’s starting to break. Some common signs that your antenna needs repair include:

  • A repetitive “no signal” issue

  • A redundant “searching” issue

  • Increased signal issues during a cloudy or rainy day

  • A sudden drop in signal strength, regardless of the weather

If you’re experiencing these problems, you’ll want to ensure that your cables are still in good shape and have not deteriorated. In addition, check to make sure that your cables are firmly in place at the wall outlet. Finally, check the position of your antenna to ensure there are no obstructions in its path. If you’ve checked your antenna thoroughly and are still having these problems, a repair is most likely needed by an antenna technician.

There aren’t any guarantees that the TV antenna you purchase and install will provide perfect reception. Much depends on your distance from broadcasting towers, any nearby obstructions, and typical weather. However, doing some research minimizes the risk of disappointment.

You can speak to neighbors to understand their setup. Various online tools allow you to check how far you are from TV transmitters in your area. The Federal Communications Commission, for example, has a tool enabling you to check local Digital TV channel reception.

Selecting the right type of antenna for your situation and having it properly positioned and installed will also increase the chances of better reception.

The cost to repair your TV antenna is around $200 for the average homeowner. However, charges could be as low as $60 or as high as $450. Factors such as multidirectional or unidirectional, indoor or outdoor, and amplified or non-amplified all play an essential role in determining the cost of your repair. For example, outdoor antennas cost more on average to repair than indoor ones, much like amplified antennas cost more to repair than unamplified ones.

Most repairs take 1-4 hours, but complex signal issues may require further troubleshooting.
