"We had extensive subsidence on our driveway and several slabs had cracks. The estimator came on time, was professional, described the process, made appropriate measurements, took photos and promised an estimate by email. The estimate arrived 48 hours later and was right in line with others we received but much less than re-pouring the driveway. We approved the job and set a date for it's initiation in about one weeks time. They showed up right on time and commenced work. What was thought to be a 3-4 hour job eventually took 8 hours. No complaints from the contractor. The driveway was level, not perfect, but better than I had hoped for. I ground the uneven cracks myself and filled them with fast-set concrete. The driveway looks almost like new. We're happy so far. Time will tell how permanent the fix is."

"We had our laminate ruined by some water intrusion caused by Hurricane Irma. It's been a tough full year of waiting on the insurance company to finally approve the repairs. Already cranky, I called J.Z. Star Flooring and spoke Guillermo. Immediately, he calmed my nerves with is kind and caring disposition and told me he could come out to measure the house and bring samples. Honestly, this was the 3rd vendor we had called, the first two never showed up and tried to reschedule a day after not even calling or coming by. Guillermo, arrived on time, showed us plenty of samples and really took his time even though he ended up leaving around 8pm. To my surprise, the product called Meridian - color - Ashford Grey, was in stock and the installers could start on Monday which was only a few days away. Our installers, Eduardo and Alejandro, were the cream of the crop, I've never seen baseboards installed so perfectly. They were able to move all our heavy furniture and kept everything so clean. At the end of each day, they made sure that their work areas were left clean and tidy. The installation was perfection, my home likes like new since Eduardo is also a painter, we got our whole interior painted. We could not be happier with Guillermo, Eduardo, and Alejandro and I recommend J.Z. Star Flooring to anyone looking to do their floors since they can install any type of flooring. At the end of the job, we got a call from the owner, Jaime who asked us about the service, installation, and pricing and genuinely wanted feedback to keep improving the company. I couldn't give him much constructive feedback since everything was Perfection! They will not let you down, these guys look at the big picture and I'm glad to have experienced this level of service and quality."

"Dan is the definition of a professional contractor / handy man and I was very happy with the end result. I had a very unique situation where the previous owners of my condo had a huge 9 foot Murphy bed / cabinets custom installed and mounted on a living room wall. It was bolted to the wall in dozens of different places and was even glued to the wall in some areas as well. With it's huge size, the only way to get it through the front door was to take it down in pieces. However, Dan was up to the challenge and somehow managed to remove everything faster than I expected. Dan arrived exactly on time and came well prepared as he brought every tool imaginable, including a saw as he had to cut this huge wall mounted Murphy bed / shelves into pieces to get it through the front door. With decades of experience, Dan is clearly a seasoned professional and I was not surprised by his superior level of service given all the 5 start reviews I read on Angie's list before hiring him. He always quick to make recommendations and point out things I wasn't aware of throughout the entire process and he was very respectful about not damaging anything / cleaning up. On top of that, his price was incredibly reasonable for the level of services performed as it was priced very competitively compared to 2-3 other estimates I received. Unlike other contractors that simply "make up" a price for the "estimate", Dan charges by the hour, ensuring the arrangement is most fair for both sides. I only pay for the true # of hours it takes to complete the job and the contractor has more incentive to produce higher quality workmanship since he knows he's getting his full hourly rate. Bottom line, Dan showed up exactly when promised, he did exactly what we agreed upon and his fair pricing structure is simply unbeatable for the end result quality. I would highly recommend Dan to anyone looking for a reputable contractor as his proven track record on Angie's list is the result of hundreds of satisfied customers like myself.
